Beach Bitch Time

I wrote a worthy and rather indulgent post early this morning which I pulled
It was important to write but not to post if you get my meaning
Those that have already read it, will understand I am sure.
Now I post a photo of myself and the girls
Indulgent me!?
Naw!
Anyhow it's Tuesday, I think
Yes it's Tuesday .....Choir night !

I took the younger girls on an 8 mile beach walk and timed it well enough to meet an old friend for proper coffee overlooking Liverpool Bay

Yesterday, I found a heart shaped pebble tucked away on a book shelf
It was no larger than a postage stamp and it had been there perhaps 16 years
I painted it a cheerful yellow and wrote on it stay safe
And left it on the head of the ever growing covid snake which stretches from the lytch gate towards the church

  1. Looking good John. Your face is so slim. Keep doing what you're doing!

I was born on Valentines Day and I collect heart shaped rocks. They are special.

What a pleasant and delightful way to spend time: a long walk with the girls and a socially proper coffee meet-up with a friend.

Love the heart shaped rock, its yellow paint, and its new message.

As the virus numbers rise dismayingly, stay safe out there!

    Hugs!

  8. The rocks remind me an artist here that painted rocks all different colors, with a smiley face of them, wearing a mask, that placed them all over town in odds places. I thought is was rather fun.

  9. Lovely idea John. I tried to read your earlier post but by the time I got there you had taken it off. I agree that sometimes writing something is enough to get it off your chest without others reading it.

Your removed post was fine, not self indulgent. I for one was very happy that you felt you'd accomplished a lot of personal achievement.

  19. I didn't feel it was self-indulgent and it was a pleasure to read and to know that you are feeling joy again. That said, some things feel too personal to share and that's a feeling we should pay attention to.

Dorothy actually looks quite happy in that photo. Usually she looks a little worried, and maybe I'm wrong, but she really does look HAPPY.

  23. Blogs are for the blogger I say! Whatever you wrote hopefully helped you sort things out. I take Murphy on four to five mile walks every morning. I love spending time with him. I would love to live close to a beach like you do! And to end it with coffee and a friend...perfect!

  24. I too read what you wrote, never once did I think it was self indulgent. It sounded like you were processing the last couple of years and filing them away. I'm happy your home now feels yours. Ditto on the Russel Crowe look!

  25. Writing it was the important part - you said it as a 'Note for self' . You are looking good, and getting out to meet people is important. On the Painted Stones topic. Our local children painted rocks during Lockdown and hid them amongst the bushes at one of the parks. Other kids had great fun playing "Hunt The Rock" . Anything to keep the kids sane during those long weeks. Enjoy the fresh air, the coffee and companionship.

  26. That's a lovely photo, you are looking great. There are lots of painted pebbles in our village too xx

  27. I understand all about writing a long or close to the heart post and then reverting it to draft. I toyed with the idea of doing just that with yesterday's post, but decided to hit the Publish button and have left it there. Sometimes it's cathartic to 'talk' to the keyboard isn't it.

Eight miles ... I don't think I could manage two at the moment, I am seriously unfit. Me and Suky need to build up some stamina I think.

  28. Glad you got things off your chest. Sorry I missed it but I can get a sense of it from the commenters who did read it. Anyway, you look great and I love that rock. I found a heart-shaped stone on the beach at Brighton the day before we drove to Sheffield to visit my sister's grave. I brought it with me and left it for her. Next time, I'll paint one.

  29. I only saw the snippet of your now-deleted post in my reading list. It's up to you what you publish and delete, and that was part of the reason i stopped posting mine--what i wrote was really meant for just me.
Glad you had fun with the girls and met up with a friend for a 'proper coffee'. Such love on that girl's face.

Your eyes still look sad, John the dogs, but a good clearing out, adding to a line of hope with a repurposed, painted rock, long walk with beings who love you, and coffee with a friend all help with healing.
