I wrote a worthy and rather indulgent post early this morning which I pulled
It was important to write but not to post if you get my meaning
Those that have already read it, will understand I am sure.
Now I post a photo of myself and the girls
Indulgent me!?
Naw!
Anyhow it's Tuesday, I think
Yes it's Tuesday .....Choir night !
I took the younger girls on an 8 mile beach walk and timed it well enough to meet an old friend for proper coffee overlooking Liverpool Bay
Yesterday, I found a heart shaped pebble tucked away on a book shelf
It was no larger than a postage stamp and it had been there perhaps 16 years
I painted it a cheerful yellow and wrote on it stay safe
And left it on the head of the ever growing covid snake which stretches from the lytch gate towards the church
Looking good John. Your face is so slim. Keep doing what you're doing!
ReplyDeleteI was born on Valentines Day and I collect heart shaped rocks. They are special.
I've lost a stone
DeleteWell done, John!
DeleteHugs!

i agree with hummingbird....you look very handsome!
ReplyDeleteStill a sweet little pebble! And going on to an important new life as a part of history in it's own right. Hope you all had a lovely walk
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely. The sea was calm and warm
DeleteWhat a pleasant and delightful way to spend time: a long walk with the girls and a socially proper coffee meet-up with a friend.
ReplyDeleteLove the heart shaped rock, its yellow paint, and its new message.
As the virus numbers rise dismayingly, stay safe out there!
Hugs!
Trying x
DeleteDid you get the small gift I had sent to you two weeks ago from Etsy via Bridgnorth?
ReplyDeleteThe dog? Yes t was lovely but no name on it x
DeleteI cannot tell the difference between you and russell crowe! :)
ReplyDeleteI love you AM
DeleteOh, and there was me struggling to tell the difference between John and Dorothy. Oh well...
DeleteLOL!
DeleteHey, it's your blog after all, no? You can do as you please.
ReplyDeleteAnd Yep. Rusell Crowe. Totes.
XOXO
I love you
DeleteThe rocks remind me an artist here that painted rocks all different colors, with a smiley face of them, wearing a mask, that placed them all over town in odds places. I thought is was rather fun.
ReplyDeleteSome of the designs ,mostly by children, at the church gate are quite beautiful
DeleteLovely idea John. I tried to read your earlier post but by the time I got there you had taken it off. I agree that sometimes writing something is enough to get it off your chest without others reading it.
ReplyDeleteI think it does us all good to get things off our tits
Delete❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteYou are good humoured
DeleteHows the oromorph levels?
Lol u mad cow
Delete8 miles! Those little legs! Tired doggies.
ReplyDeleteYour removed post was fine, not self indulgent. I for one was very happy that you felt you'd accomplished a lot of personal achievement.
8 miles, wow! Love the rocks.
ReplyDeleteI did 6 yesterday....bike riding tomorrow
DeleteYou are doing a lot of walking.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to.lose weight
DeleteWriting things down can be very cathartic .... that mixed with a long walk must have really sorted your head out !!!
ReplyDeleteI think you were meant to find the pebble again today. XXXX
Yes....its all come at once ..serendipity again?
DeleteLong dog walk on the beach followed by coffee with a friend... that sounds perfect. The girls will sleep soundly when they get home!
ReplyDeleteMary was out again with hattie when I got home
DeleteDitto to Lizzy D's comment on the removed post. I too was very happy you are in such a good place in all respects and made it your own!
ReplyDeleteXx
DeleteI see you are wearing a rugby shirt in the photo. Which club did you play for and which position? I am guessing hooker.
ReplyDeleteHow very dare you
DeleteWith my lightening moves?
A winger
Don't you mean whinger?
DeleteYes, with as public as your blog is I can understand not posting everything you write.
ReplyDeleteWriting can be cathartic..but not for everyone to read
DeleteI didn't feel it was self-indulgent and it was a pleasure to read and to know that you are feeling joy again. That said, some things feel too personal to share and that's a feeling we should pay attention to.
ReplyDeleteDorothy actually looks quite happy in that photo. Usually she looks a little worried, and maybe I'm wrong, but she really does look HAPPY.
She was very excited ....and very hard work x
DeleteA lovely way to start the day and I'm sure the girls liked it as well 8 miles is quite a jaunt good on you, a heart shaped pebble the best kind nice to pay it forward, enjoy your choir tonight, life is good.
ReplyDeleteChoir was good tonight x
DeleteIs choir in person again? Or still zoomy?
DeleteZoom
DeleteAll that walking and cycling - you are going to be super fit!
ReplyDeleteI doubt it
Delete8 miles! Holy Mackeral, I am impressed!
ReplyDeleteTell my knees
DeleteBlogs are for the blogger I say! Whatever you wrote hopefully helped you sort things out. I take Murphy on four to five mile walks every morning. I love spending time with him. I would love to live close to a beach like you do! And to end it with coffee and a friend...perfect!
ReplyDeleteI too read what you wrote, never once did I think it was self indulgent. It sounded like you were processing the last couple of years and filing them away. I'm happy your home now feels yours. Ditto on the Russel Crowe look!

Writing it was the important part - you said it as a 'Note for self' . You are looking good, and getting out to meet people is important. On the Painted Stones topic. Our local children painted rocks during Lockdown and hid them amongst the bushes at one of the parks. Other kids had great fun playing "Hunt The Rock" . Anything to keep the kids sane during those long weeks. Enjoy the fresh air, the coffee and companionship.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely photo, you are looking great. There are lots of painted pebbles in our village too xx
ReplyDeleteI understand all about writing a long or close to the heart post and then reverting it to draft. I toyed with the idea of doing just that with yesterday's post, but decided to hit the Publish button and have left it there. Sometimes it's cathartic to 'talk' to the keyboard isn't it.
ReplyDeleteEight miles ... I don't think I could manage two at the moment, I am seriously unfit. Me and Suky need to build up some stamina I think.
Glad you got things off your chest. Sorry I missed it but I can get a sense of it from the commenters who did read it. Anyway, you look great and I love that rock. I found a heart-shaped stone on the beach at Brighton the day before we drove to Sheffield to visit my sister's grave. I brought it with me and left it for her. Next time, I'll paint one.
ReplyDeleteI only saw the snippet of your now-deleted post in my reading list. It's up to you what you publish and delete, and that was part of the reason i stopped posting mine--what i wrote was really meant for just me.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun with the girls and met up with a friend for a 'proper coffee'. Such love on that girl's face.
Your eyes still look sad, John the dogs, but a good clearing out, adding to a line of hope with a repurposed, painted rock, long walk with beings who love you, and coffee with a friend all help with healing.
x
