Watching

Winnie has been watching me from her corner of the couch.
Her piggy eyes look curious and a tad concerned....I've been watching the sob fest My Best Friend's Wedding
After an age she dragged herself up with a sigh and after hitting the floor heavily she ambled over to my arm chair and lifted her giant fat paws on my footstool in order to present her face to mine.
You can kiss me she indicated
And I hugged and kissed her giant gintrap mouth like a sad child would kiss his grandmother

Suky was sat outside the bathroom only yesterday, making me feel guilty for the tears shed in the shower. The confusion and concern in her eyes was obvious to see.

  11. I can connect with Winnie...I have had such a lovely life and yet somehow I look back and there is a big huge gap...oh, what I could have done and seen and been and experienced...and now I am 67 years old and too old to adventure out. I hate nights like this where I am dissatisfied and old and unable to do what I would have loved to do...please please don't put off the dreams you have of doing and seeing and experiencing because there is nothing worse than regret for being too chicken to seize the moment.

  12. We are looked over and cared for by our animal gods. I believe that. They know far more than we imagine and when they love us, as Winnie loves you, they do their best to comfort us, protect us, tend us.

  13. Our animals know. They just know. Bless Winnie and you too John.

John I do not like this muck-a-ruck mood. Let’s plan a diversion. All your readers should plan a meet up

  17. The expression on her face, and what goes on in her head, probably have no relation.

  18. She's never taken you for granted and will always have boundless gratitude for the rescue you gave her. And now she'd like to eat.

  25. Sob fest? The My Best Friend’s Wedding with the big haired
Food critic who steals a bread fan and has a fight with the bride in the toilet? It’s gloriously funny.

    1. PS OMG what and awful device. Humanity is so cruel. Poor Winnie, her sweetness deserves a nicer simile/ metaphor.
