Winnie has been watching me from her corner of the couch.
Her piggy eyes look curious and a tad concerned....I've been watching the sob fest My Best Friend's Wedding
After an age she dragged herself up with a sigh and after hitting the floor heavily she ambled over to my arm chair and lifted her giant fat paws on my footstool in order to present her face to mine.
You can kiss me she indicated
And I hugged and kissed her giant gintrap mouth like a sad child would kiss his grandmother
Sweet girl. We all need a Winnie in our life. X
ReplyDeleteDogs know the sorrow in our hearts and the conflict in our souls ❤
ReplyDeleteSuky was sat outside the bathroom only yesterday, making me feel guilty for the tears shed in the shower. The confusion and concern in her eyes was obvious to see.

DeleteSounds like Winnie is good at reading people.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe Winnie's just seen the movie before...
She hates Julia Roberts
Deletevery insightful girl she is! Winnie that is.
Deletewinnie looks more intimidating in B&W.
ReplyDeleteSo do I
DeleteThat sweet Winnie Girl is lovely in any color! I could use a good cry and a slobbery kiss from Winnie right now.
ReplyDeleteI hope you both felt MUCH better.
ReplyDeleteWinnie is a sweetheart gud dug.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Well Holy Jesus allmighty, John. What can this mean? I am awaiting the word.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweetie
ReplyDeleteLovely girl! She'll look after you
ReplyDeleteShe loves you. She really loves you!
ReplyDeleteAs if there was any doubt.
I hope the tears helped.
I can connect with Winnie...I have had such a lovely life and yet somehow I look back and there is a big huge gap...oh, what I could have done and seen and been and experienced...and now I am 67 years old and too old to adventure out. I hate nights like this where I am dissatisfied and old and unable to do what I would have loved to do...please please don't put off the dreams you have of doing and seeing and experiencing because there is nothing worse than regret for being too chicken to seize the moment.
ReplyDeleteWe are looked over and cared for by our animal gods. I believe that. They know far more than we imagine and when they love us, as Winnie loves you, they do their best to comfort us, protect us, tend us.
ReplyDeleteOur animals know. They just know. Bless Winnie and you too John.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid if my sister or I were crying outside, the farm dogs immediately when into check over then cheer up action.
ReplyDeleteJohn I do not like this muck-a-ruck mood. Let’s plan a diversion. All your readers should plan a meet up
ReplyDeleteThat's a real "three hanky weeper" of a movie alright.
ReplyDeleteThe expression on her face, and what goes on in her head, probably have no relation.
ReplyDeleteShe's never taken you for granted and will always have boundless gratitude for the rescue you gave her. And now she'd like to eat.
ReplyDeleteThey get it, they totally get it! Unconditional love: better by far than many humans.

Sweet Winnie x
ReplyDeleteWinnie knows what you need. What a sweetheart ... a sweet slobbering ... sweetheart. Nope, "My Best Friend's Wedding" just didn't do it for me. I thought it was at times cute.
ReplyDeleteAwww, she was worried!
ReplyDeleteHas someone hurt you? Does anyone need a good ASS WHUPPIN? Point the way!
ReplyDeleteMy dogs can read my thoughts and sense my distress x
ReplyDeleteSob fest? The My Best Friend’s Wedding with the big haired
ReplyDeleteFood critic who steals a bread fan and has a fight with the bride in the toilet? It’s gloriously funny.
The end always makes me cry
DeleteLots of sobbing in Trelawnydd, John? I wonder what a gin trap is?
ReplyDeletePS OMG what and awful device. Humanity is so cruel. Poor Winnie, her sweetness deserves a nicer simile/ metaphor.
DeleteIt just means the size of her jaw, it kind of unhinges when she opens her mouth
DeleteGood for the lady at the Co0op, and good for Winner. Kindness is the winner.
