Just after four thirty this morning I found myself suddenly wide awake.
Had there been a crash ?
Or had I been dreaming?
I lay in bed for a while.
Mary was asleep , curled up on my right side. Bun next to her.
Bun was awake and her head was up listening.
I gathered my urology piping and went to investigate
Weaver was sat on my desk, with her eyes to the ceiling.
I could swear that she was whistling
Lying smashed in the inglenook fireplace was my gargoyle
His decapitated head in the centre of the hearth rug.
When Weaver was a kitten , she would often hiss at the gargoyle’s angry face as he sat quietly watching the room. She wasn’t keen on my dinosaur pottery figure either and even the stuffed dog toy I bought in Kenmare when I visited Nu had been spat at and cuffed as he sat in his box behind the sofa
I flicked two fingers up at Weaver who was pretending to ignore me and placed the gargoyle’s head on the mantlepiece

I desperately want to comment but words fail me!

ReplyDeleteThe Stephen King of it all!!
LOL
XOXO
He’s love my home
DeleteWhat a little sh*t! That reminds me, did you ever find the missing pottery figure? The case for the prosecution is getting stronger by the minute! xx
ReplyDeleteIt never turned up
DeleteThis line made me spit my first martini out 🍸
ReplyDelete“ I could swear that she was whistling ”
Lee x
She was
DeleteShe would probably insist that "a big boy did it and ran away".
ReplyDeleteI think u are right
DeleteWhat if a ghost--poltergeist?--- or ''something'' knocked it down! And Weaver is an innov=cent bystander, bravely protecting her master and pack.
ReplyDeleteWill you mend it?
No , it’s now a paper weight
DeleteI'm sure it was an accident. Weaver was just an innocent bystander. 🙂 🐈⬛
DeleteCan the gargoyle's bottom part become a vase? What a shame, but breakables should be up very, very high with nothing nearby to use as a ladder to it as must be done when there's a 2 year old in the house. My sympathy.
ReplyDeleteHugs!

ReplyDeleteWelcome
xx
DeleteOmg!! I wonder if Weaver might regret her actions?
ReplyDeleteHe looks more scary now than when he was in one piece!!
Didn't Roger hear the crash?
ReplyDeleteIf she goes missing, you fret. If she's at home, she's destructive. She really knows how to wind you up!
ReplyDeleteSounds like her whistle was that of innocence ... but do we believe her????
ReplyDeleteJohn,That gargoyle has bad juju. Please take it out of your house!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThings going bump in the night sure raise the heart rate.
ReplyDeleteoh, that cat. She is filled with a spirit I cannot quite describe...she certainly seems to have very strong *dislikes*....and perhaps not too many *likes*? And she certainly not afraid of showing her dislikes!
ReplyDeleteSusan M./ Calif
More cat drama. Weaver can't help herself.
ReplyDeleteCan you glue the gargoyle back together?
Can the head be glued back on? Or would she just have another go at it? 😄
ReplyDeleteIf I were you I would sleep with one eye open, she's coming for you, it's only a matter of time.
ReplyDeleteShut up
Delete"Revenge is a dish best served cold," purred Weaver, as she nonchalantly licked her paw. "She who laughs last, laughs best."
ReplyDeleteShe’s a cunt
DeleteI hope it's mendable. It would be a real shame if not. Thin gruel for Weaver!
ReplyDeleteNO the head is now a paperweight
DeleteThe gargoyle's been broken before, hasn't he?
ReplyDeleteWell remembered , I’m not repairing him again
DeleteSo, now she’s an art critic. Hope it can be repaired.
ReplyDeleteI’m not bothered
DeleteI like to think this is the origional Weaver having fun and saying hi - wherever she may be!
ReplyDeleteThe original weaver was a sassy broad
DeleteThis is the reason I have nearly always had boy cats. The girls can be little terrors!!
ReplyDeleteIt’s a learning curve , Albert was NEVER a problem for 16 years
DeleteIf the world were flat, cats would have swept us all over the edge by now.
ReplyDeleteAin’t that the truth
DeleteCats know. Gargoyle has bad energy.
ReplyDelete👹
DeleteShe may be possessed. Consult a priest.
ReplyDeleteHe’s left the village😇
Deleteyes i agree , I would not have that in my house . Sofie

DeleteHe is a little scary looking - she was defending you from harm. ;)
ReplyDeleteDefending yeah right x lol
Deleteyow! Scary!
ReplyDelete🐈⬛
DeleteOh, that's a bummer. But good job saving the head just to taunt Weaver with it!
ReplyDeleteI’m keeping it as a paperweight
DeleteI think it makes an excellent paperweight! But glad it wasn't worse damage done.
