British Summer Time

Don’t you just love British Summer Time
The only perk that Night Staff have this weekend…..
What fun
This was my happy face after a 10.5 hours shift rather than an 11.5 hour one

  1. It's something - but a hard night still remains exactly that. Hope your rest today is a good one.

  2. Do you pay a penalty in the autumn and have to work an extra hour?

  5. No! I do not like BST and wish they would stop changing the clocks twice a year. It is stupid and quite disruptive. I see no benefits whatsoever.

  6. Oh, I hadn’t thought about a shortened night shift thanks to the clock change. ONE benefit!

  7. In Canada we sprang forward at the beginning of March, in sync with the Americans.

Have to say your exuberance is underwhelming. When I was a kid old people complained about feeling discomfort with the time change and it seemed so weird. Now I spend a couple days after each one a bit out of joint.

  11. I was just wondering this morning if there's any possibility you can retire soon from nursing. It is a HARD job, physically and emotionally.

Yep, the shorten work that affects night shift is in springtime (Spring Forward) and the extra hour of work is in autumn (Fall Back). Been there, worked both.
You look somewhat knackered, John. Sleep well.

    Hugs!

  15. I hadn't thought about how BST would affect workers overnight. That's a bonus! (But one that gets yanked back in the autumn, I guess...)

  18. Glad you had an hour less to work John. I hate the change, both ways. But I'm glad of the extra hour daylight in the evening!
