Eye Hospital appointment today made bearable by professional care, a great consultant and a meeting with fellow patient Mo who is the leader of the village Friendship Group.
I had several scans which shows the bleed in my eye improving
But does anyone else feel like this ? When the doctor , or nurse or technician is scanning my eyes so close up and intimate like , I suddenly have the real urge to kiss them.
Am I unique in feeling this way?
Answers on a postcard
Oh no, I would never felt the urge to kiss someone going near my eyes!!!! My urge would be something between need to run away to scream my lungs out to try to hit that someone with anything heavy enough. I hate and fear someone touching my eye... (and to be honest, I don't want to be near or to be touched by anyone if not a child or an animal. Yes, I'm in the spectrum.
ReplyDeleteBut I sense a relief in your writings, such a heavy load has been lift off your shoulders. Can't wait to meet your next resque, when it is time.
Ulvmor
I feel so much lighter
DeleteNot really. Glad to hear things are improving.
ReplyDeleteTry it Dave x
DeleteNo, I feel like punching them.
ReplyDeleteI do when the needle appears
DeleteSometimes, yes, but I have had occasions when their halitosis has put me off the idea. Garlic breath isn't a good fit when you have to get up close and personal!
ReplyDeleteGlad the eye is improving. xx
I always use mouth wash and the usual Clinique happy
DeleteNope!

DeleteNope! Just you....
ReplyDeleteNot half a dozen people here so far
DeleteI have to say that is one of your more odd characteristics...Bel Ami
ReplyDeleteAnd you know me well old friend x
DeleteOnly once, when I was in my 20s and I quickly squelched the thought.
ReplyDeleteAfter I was married, I was kissed at work by 3 different doctors on 3 occasions when I was not a willing participant. Inappropriate, but in those long ago days it wasn't reported.
Hugs!
Number six is Babs x
Deletenumber 6?
DeleteYou are only unique in admitting to it!
ReplyDeleteOr...perhaps you would like to come with me to an appointment with my very dishy young Asian Specsavers person and we'll see what you feel then?
On the other hand, having a much better experience this time, with a positive diagnosis does send a rush of - adrenalin, oxytocin, testerone or something - to the brain and elsewhere.
Welcome it. Means you are not only still alive, but punching your weight. Yay!
Nicely put liz …I am unique
DeleteNever that I can recall. having had several eye operations in latter years as well as regular opticians appointments. I think I just might get that temptation if it was someone I fancied but so far no.
ReplyDeletePucker up Raymondo
DeleteNo. NO!!!
ReplyDelete๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
DeleteNo, I just want to escape. There are very few people I feel an urge to kiss, which says more about me than the people I meet.
ReplyDeleteI have the urge often , shows my desperation
DeletePutting my hand up, it has crossed my mind, but only once, and we are NOT desperate! Libs xx
DeleteThanks libs x
DeleteUmm... no ... but you are obviously a much more affectionate person than I am!
ReplyDeleteI think I am lol ๐ฅฐ๐๐๐๐️๐️๐️๐️
DeleteGod no! gigi
ReplyDeletelol ok ok it’s not mandatory
DeleteNo. I'm usually hoping I didn't miss a bogie or something.
ReplyDeletelol, I always splash on Clinique Happy
DeleteYES!! Even though I’m in my 70’s my physician is an attractive man and a few times during an examination I have to fight back the urge to kiss him.
ReplyDeleteNumber five ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐๐๐๐๐
DeleteI think I'd be more ready to karate chop. But that's me.
ReplyDeleteOh me when the injection comes out
DeleteIt has never crossed my mind - but now it is in my mind. Luckily I didn’t have any appointments coming up.
ReplyDeletePucker up ๐๐๐๐๐
DeleteI haven't had that urge but I do always have to check myself to not say "love you" when I'm ending a phone call. That's what I say to my kids every time I hang up; I know one day I'm going to say it to the plumber or someone equally inappropriate.
ReplyDeleteNow this made me laugh out loud
DeleteGlad it's not just me!!
ReplyDeleteThat me Jax
DeleteNumber four
DeleteYes! I have felt this at the dentist’s, when they lean in so close their leg is touching mine.
ReplyDeleteI’ve never heard anyone else talk about this – – but it must be a thing, even if a minority thing…
Another one that’s three of us
DeleteI have a full body skin check every six months at my dermatologist's because I had a melanoma a long time ago. Once, when he was gently running his fingers down my arm as he looked at it intensely, I almost blurted out "That's the most action I've gotten in years." haha
ReplyDeleteMe too
DeleteI loved this story too
DeleteMy doctor would have laughed along with me. He has a good sense of humor. We have a running joke about how a large benign mole on my hip could be used for "identification of the body" if need be. And that paper gown they give you to preserve some of your sense of modesty? That ship sailed a long time ago. I pretty much discard it right away.
DeleteThank u x
DeleteOh dear. Just under a year ago. In my defence, I am a lonely old widow lady who was actually sixty-thirteen years old on that very day, I was in hospital and had passed what should have been my golden wedding anniversary six days previously, and a lovely nurse helped me to shower. I was sitting, and as she bent to wash my feet, I’m afraid gratitude and emotion got the better of me and I kissed the top of her head. I did explain myself as I thanked her, and she kindly said she understood.
ReplyDeleteGod bless our understanding nurses.
Jude (decloaking on your wonderful and much loved blog)
Oh Jude that’s quite lovely x just lovely
DeleteNope. I do have a real urge to begin waving my arms and yelling 'Purple circle. Purple circle!!!!'
ReplyDeleteWtf
DeleteWhat’s purple circle ?
"The purple circle on the Intersex flag symbolizes wholeness, completeness, and potential," tho I still don t see the context/ reference?

DeleteLovely thank u …I get it
DeleteA young neurologist I knew(he looked much younger than his stated age and grew a mustache to look closer to actual age). One time he was examining a patient’s eyes with a light and very close to the patient. She said “do people ever kiss you when you do this exam? He was young enough he still blushed when he told this story.
ReplyDeleteI’m not the only one then lol thank the lord
DeleteI wonder if it ever happens? I bet it does!
ReplyDeleteI belatedly realized I didn't answer your question. When I was in my early 20s I went to a young dentist, not much older than me, and I only ever saw him with his mask on. So I could only see his eyes and nothing else. I developed a little crush on him based on those blue eyes but then I finally saw him without his mask and he didn't look at all like I imagined. LOL! (Sad trombone.)
DeleteOh, the fantasy shattered
DeleteI don't have this with doctors, but I did have a better-than-anticipated session at a dental office and jumped out of the chair afterward, asking the dentist if I could hug him in relief. Also, not quite on topic, but as a 74 yo woman who chooses not to be in a relationship, I can be totally knocked out by kissing scenes in movies, much moreso than heavy sex scenes.
ReplyDeleteNina
Steady Nina steady!
DeleteMe too, Nina! Although I wouldn't have thought of "knocked out" to describe my reaction to kissing scenes, it works. And I admit, I respond more to them than to sex scenes. Go figure.
DeleteLol
DeleteNo
ReplyDeleteThat’s ok ๐
DeleteNo, here too. I can see why it happens though. There they are, just inches or less from your face, gazing at you with such focus and interest...

DeleteMy husband has wet AMD and he has to have an injection in his eye every 24 days. This has been going on for over a year! The retinologist never gets up close to look in his eye, it is done by machines with all the images coming up on the computer. When he gets the freezing and the injections the chair is slightly tipped back and the dr. stands behind the chair and does the injections from there. No baby blues to look into, lol. Same when we go to the optician for our annual checkup, all done by machines.
ReplyDeleteI liked that the consultant actually checked my eyes himself ( after the scans were done)
DeleteNo kissing but I fondly remember a handsome young lab tech holding my hands in his to warm them up before doing a finger prick blood test. Bliss.
ReplyDeleteMr Darcy !๐ฉท๐
DeleteI've never had a doctor that I even remotely felt like kissing. They likely felt the same way about me.
ReplyDeleteYou haven’t lived

DeleteLOL. I’ve never had the urge myself, but I have wondered if anyone ever has.
ReplyDeleteSeven followers feel the same lol
DeleteMy ex husband is an eye care professional. Next time I see him I ll ask him if anyone ever kissed him or ''made a move''/ flirted. Maybe now he'd admit it?
ReplyDeletelol I hope it wasn’t me lol
DeleteBut how fun!
DeleteLol
DeleteI was almost in tears at the amazing work done to replace a lost front tooth so did ask my dentist if I could give him a hug, he gave me a lovely bear hug with no embarrassment by either of us. When in my mid-forties a colleague was too close and asked if he could do anything for me, my reply was ‘kiss me please’ and we did and from there ensued two intense sensual/sexual years - whew am sweating just remembering him๐ฅต.
