“ A Moment of silence, emotion and Wild Beauty*”

I’m a sucker for a magic moment.
In counselling it can happen when you and your client suddenly reach an emotional depth around an issue and you both suddenly feel that connection with a look that brings you up short.
Sometimes it’s an experience that awes you.
My first steps into La Sagrada Famila literally made my heart soar
Mary trying to run fast to say hello after my holiday break
The lisping choir and Metropolitan Orchestra playing Nocturn was one such moment.
The auditorium lights went off suddenly and the music and voices filled the space
And you where left with the experience without self consciousness

For me it was the moment that I realized that I had fallen in love with that funny old man who would become my husband. Gigi

As a seminary friend once said, "That'll preach!"
One such episode that happened to DH, DS1, and me a few weeks ago in our country driveway when an adult female bald eagle flew right past us - fast - and at shoulder height. What grace and majesty. All we could do is look at each other with mouths hanging open in astonishment and quietly say "WOW!".
    Amazing music!!

    Hugs!

  10. You know, I love the way that you phrase it. You experience without self consciousness. That's exactly right. I had a moment like that in an ancient church listening to a choir rehearsing. It brought tears to my eyes.

  11. Yes. The time I was driving down a country road at about 50 mph and suddenly a red tail hawk was flying exactly parallel to me down the field. We moved in sync. Such a moment of privilege.

The original is similar, very orchestral indeed.
Didn’t you have a choir moment a few years ago when Jamy turned the lights off and made you all sing in the dark?

On a trip out of town we stopped for a rest break in a fantastic gorge called the Karangahape gorge, stunning beautiful, snaking river running through towering walls covered with native bush and at the top beautiful blue sky. In the air I spotted a small white feather then realised there were 2 tiny birds playing with this feather, one would release it let it float downwards then the second would swoop down and pick it up fly upwards release the feather and the first bird would swoop down after the feather swoop upwards and release it. It was a magical moment 2 tiny birds and a feather juxapositioned against towering ancient walls. We watched for an age and were in awe of the beauty of it all.

Many years ago, I was on a trip to France with my child's French class . It was at the end of a long day at Mont St Michel . We had been ushered in and seated in the huge, beautiful chapel and the nuns began chanting the Psalms. It was breathtaking!

  17. For me there was a magical moment I have always treasured, when I was young and walking through a campsite in Ragusa. It was late and still. Heavy with evening warmth and just a few small sounds of campers moving around. There was magic in the very air and my heart stilled to share it.

  18. My son got married in a large church in Slovenia ( the capital...I can't spell it!!) and I had one of those moments when the renowned choir first sang from the balcony behind me. I didn't even know they were there. My DIL's brother and sister were in the choir as she would have been ,if not the one getting married!!

We had been in Italy for weeks for my husband’s work. I was missing home. An English girls choir sang in the church in San Gimignano. Their lovely voices and harmonies filled the space and my heart. Llynn

Swimming under a bridge with a friend and the sky was absolutely full of fireflies! Never saw so many. It was a magical night. Kathy
