It’s stormy .
I took the Welsh to the beach and we hugged the Promenade wall to keep out of the wind.
I’ve made a fish pie and the fire is lit.
It was my nephew Leo’s birthday yesterday .
He went to see Wicked and said he loved it.
I’m not sure I’m going but this scene intrigued and moved me
A lovely silent performance by Cynthia Erivo
Not sure I want to see the film, but that is a very moving, balletic performance.
ReplyDeleteRain, rain and more rain here today and bloody cold! A day for snuggling up at home and not doing much else. Stay warm and safe everyone! xx
I've seen a lot of promotion for it and it might be fun to see, although, I have not been to a movie in many, many, many years.
ReplyDeleteIt's a chilly, gray day here. I am working on my Thanksgiving dinner grocery list and my grandkids' Christmas lists.
Hmn, if this little scene, played so exquisitely, and silently, has moved you, then I think you need to see the film and catch some magic. You sound as if Storm Bert has been on your doorstep - same here, but all the heavy thick snow has now gone, and it is raining. Instead of a fish pie (perfect comfort food!) I have made a batch of chilli con carne, under a blanket by the fire with a cup of tea and A Matter Of Life And Death on BBC2. Winter Saturday afternoon bliss without even planning it!
ReplyDeleteI saw it on Broadway and loved it, but I just can't get excited about the movie. I think if I hadn't already seen it I'd be more interested. Happy birthday Leo!
ReplyDeleteAn enchanting scene!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're snuggled in at the cottage with the Welsh and the kittens. Stay safe & warm!
Wow, makes me yearn to go.
ReplyDeleteHow old is Leo now? He must be about 22. You were very good to him when he was little. I remember that.
ReplyDeleteYou've taken the saying
ReplyDeleteBe warm and be fed
literally, enjoy -Mary
We still have good weather here in Toronto, 7C this afternoon. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop! I think when it comes, winter will be a shock. I should think about getting my jacket ready for action, so far just going out in a hoody. I can just picture you and the Welsh hiding from the wind at the beach. I have made a load of turkey chilli for the freezer for one of those nasty days. It’s nice to see that Leo is interested in the arts, you taught him well. Gigi
ReplyDeleteAs enchanted as that scene is, am not sure I want to see the film. More power to all who do!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to be warm and tucked in while "the weather outside is frightful and the fire is so delightful", even if it's not snowing! We've had a cold wind blowing a hoolie with rain.
This is the time of year I really miss beef - damn the Lone Star Tick that caused me to become allergic to beef.
Hugs!
I am glad that Leo had a good birthday. I love that he keeps you in his loop. Your relationship with him is very sweet.
ReplyDeleteThe weather must be so windy by the promenade at the moment. Batten down the hatches and keep warm with a tasty stew. That's what I'm doing anyway and hoping the power doesn't go down.
ReplyDeleteA balmy 15 degrees today...
ReplyDeleteThe film looks interesting. Happy Birthday to Leo!
ReplyDeleteIs that a children's Disney film?
ReplyDeleteno, its a film for adults and children by universal
