Every company, Charity , ward , and hospice has its rules and regulations.
And every one deals with a hierarchy that enforces the status quo with varying skills and exhausting constraints
On a night out tonight , with a much loved colleague leaving
We are just people saying goodbye to an old friend
Just people
I loved this post
ReplyDeleteParing down to what is important

The photo shows lots of smiles. It looks like a good time was had by all. You'll miss your coworker.
ReplyDeleteYou are blessed to have good friends.
ReplyDeleteLucky to have good people for friends.
ReplyDeleteSo true. The hierarchy should be shed as the uniform is removed. I'm so glad all your colleagues seem to have managed that. Not all can! Glad it was a good night. xx
ReplyDeleteGood friends, wonderful co-workers, who have worked together for the betterment of their patients. Farewell to one of your number.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Who's that hiding on the back row behind the lady in red? Is it Wally? I believe that North Americans know him as Waldo.
ReplyDeleteI bet it felt so good to unwind yourself from the red tape restrictions and just have a good time with friends. Jan in Castle Gresley
ReplyDeleteIt looks as though a good time was had by all, gosh I hope you caught that last train home!!
ReplyDeleteA joyful, and tearful evening out.
ReplyDeleteJohn, you captured the challenge of working in health care. My mom was in a nursing home for the last 6 months of her life. I saw the staff run off their feet as they tended to the needs of 30 residents. Many days the care was custodial in the least as the health care staff managed staff shortages & routine at the expense of personalized care. I like your term "exhausting constraints". And yet there were moments when personalities would shine through.
ReplyDeleteJohn that’s the most diplomatic post you’ve ever written .! Good job your not working with me this week as redundancies loom ! You woukd have a field day !! Xx Bernie
