Hot & Sweaty

 I’m hot and sweaty
It’s humid and hotter than I’m used to recently.

Supervision this morning was useful, she’s making me think hard at other levels and I came out with a good headache.
Walked Welsh on the beach then long chat with Sarah at the animal rescue about Weave. She wants me to review all of the kittens up for adoption, in order to select the best fit.
I didn’t have time today so Friday will have to suffice.
I went to Chester
Had pad Thai noodles at the market

Then treated myself to a one off showing of the 50th anniversary showing of Frances Ford Coppola’s The Conversation at The Storyhouse.

I’ve never seen this neo noir thriller and I enjoyed it even though it was a cold affair all told.

Got home late and talked to Nu in the car on the drive as the Welsh barked a welcome through the broken cat flap I need to repair before Weaver arrives

  1. Maybe Weaver won't be the only new arrival chez Gray. Perhaps another little furry face will capture your heart, too.😿😻 xx

    1. I’ve always said that a cat is a BACKDROP to your life at home. They make a house a home

    2. You have a busy and full life John, spending a lot of time out of the house. Weaver will need another kitten to cuddle up to and play with or she will be lonely. Plus she will need backup with those two lively Welsh. Lol!

What a busy and varied day! Good to see you back. You are missed, you know! And no-one has permission to get to you - or anyone - like that. That woman needs therapy. Be grateful it's not you giving it!

The title of John's post about the anonymous comments was "Be Kind" and perhaps we should all grow up and practise that without the continuous slagging off of anonymous commenters. It's not kind of us or anybody to suggest that someone is deranged or needs therapy, we've absolutely no idea what someone might be going through in their lives. Be Kind.

You missed the point flis, it's BE KIND.
Can't you just let things lie without creating more unrest. John has had enough, as he made clear.

  9. We dug into the past yesterday and watched "Tempest" with a great cast: John Cassavetes, Gena Rowlands, Susan Sarandon, Molly Ringwald, Vittorio Gassman, and the great Raul Julia. It's a fun movie even though it's supposedly a takeoff on Shakespeare's Tempest.

We're hot and sweaty here, too, as our high yesterday was 37*C and today was 35*C. Happily tomorrow will be cooler.
Yes, the cat flap need repair - pronto. Are you considering a 2nd kitten to accompany Weaver to your home?
    Lovely, tranquil post.

    Hugs!

  12. What a great honour to have a small back cat named after you. Let us hope that feline Weaver is not too intimidated by The Welsh.

  13. My youngest has a tuxedo cat, got it as a kitten 2 years ago. An odd cat, her version of affection for me is attacking my feet. Emily says when I'm not there she is satisfied with a pair of my socks.
I've been ok, a scare last Sunday, but it turns out Pepto bismal has some interesting side effects.
I'm happy to see you so busy with life and your new, worthy career. Well done, my friend.

  14. Good movie. It came out in between Coppola's two Godfather movies (though I think it was filmed before the first one) and thus kind of was overlooked at the time.

  18. It'll be asking too much I know, but if only you could take li'l Weave(r?) PLUS another little kitty. But that would be asking far too much from a kind soul like yourself. Sorry, shouldn't have mentioned it! ;-)

  20. I hoped to adopt a dog - They met and ran around together doing their own thing - The dogs home person was a bit concerned they didn't connect - I went home disappointed - I was told if I was still interested to try again following week - Exactly same reaction - She declared " that's much better " - I adopted my love x πŸ’—

A sign of good supervision I think is one that stays with you and percolates- both for supervisors and supervisee . I imagine you are fully committed to the process

  22. I like the thought of assessing kittens. They would all get A* from me, simply for being kittens.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh gosh I daren't enter any animal rescue place and look at dogs or cats, when asked to assess which one I wanted I would simply be saying 'yes please'.

    ReplyDelete
  24. And here I was always thinking the human had to adapt to the cat's attitude and personality, not the other way around. But I guess when dogs are in the mix...
    You've been busy.

So happy to see you back! A day without Gray is no fun! Black kitties are the best. I too am advocating for two if you can manage it.

I love black cats. Are there perhaps two? Kittens do better in pairs.

I too have been tempted to adopt another kitten since I lost my darling Myrtle to the damn road outside our house. But the road is still there and although she was 2 years old and wary of the road it got her in the end through no fault of her own and I would hate to go through that grief again. So at the moment despite the temptation it's a no for me .....very very sadly. So looking forward to you bringing Weaver home to Wales.

GREAT TESTIMONY HOW I GOT MY LOAN I have a very important message to share with everyone that is in need of a loan from a genuine lender. I'm happy to share this note with everyone after what my wife and I went through in the hands of some pathetic hoodlums claiming to offer some sort of loans. It's very difficult to get a genuine lender and thanks to Best Loan lender who helped me with the loan, contact them if you are in need of a loan and come back to thank me later. I promise you they will not disappoint you. contact Email: - (pedroloanss@gmail.com WhatsApp +393510140339) Thanks.
