Time to share again, this time it’s the lisping Spanish Choir ( with their junior Choir),The Metropolitan Orchestra and the gentle Unidos Por Un Seuño by Alejandro Vivas.
I love the way the music and voices swell together.
A few days away from writing has been useful and allows for some perspective.
I’m not hear to be insulted, or taught a lesion, or even to allow a benign old blog to become a school ground for silly bickering or personal attack.
Things will just stop if they’re need to and no messages will shared.
Like I said before, I have plenty else to do
Dear Pat from http://weaverofgrass.blogspot.com/ has said her blog goodbye in her usual diplomatic, and gentle way. She was blogging before me in the early 2000s and is a dear friend, I’ve never met. She has asked me to relay messages to blogland in order to update it on her condition and I am moved to be asked to do so.
So today I’m back. The Spanish Choir’s piece today was first performed during lockdown and originally saw each performer in their own home, performing to camera .
Was it 4 years now since we did that? With Mary and Albert in the background watching the proceedings with mild interest and some confusion.
Singing at full pelt, with earphones is a scary scene, even if you can sing well
Yesterday I went to the animal rescue to look at the cats. Only one potential caught my eye, and after some thought I filled in the show an interest on line paperwork last night.
Most rescue places will physically check your home to see if it’s suitable, so I’m hoping for a phone call or email presently.
The kitten reminded me of Albert when he arrived at Bwthyn y Llan. He settled in when I had three dogs on the go and the new girl has that same look.
Scruffy and serious
And wide eyed
I’ve been mulling over several names already but chose the right one as soon as I saw her.
If she arrives, as planned
She will be called Weaver
Oh, so sweet. A lovely girl and a lovely name for her.
ReplyDeleteI love that her name will be Weaver!!! Such a sweet tribute to a dear lady.
ReplyDeleteLong time reader but first time commenting. Weaver is the perfect name. This shows the respect and care for a long time friend. Your blog is the first one I look for in the morning. You are a kind, caring and funny person. I don't understand the needless insults and nastiness that is happening in this world. You sir only deserve kindness.
ReplyDeleteMonique from New Brunswick, Canada.
You said everything fir me perfectly. Thank you, Monikie.
DeleteA gorgeous looking kitten, and what a lovely tribute to a remarkable woman.
ReplyDeleteVery grateful that you will relay Pat's condition. And "Weaver" is perfect. Lucky little one, who I hope very much will make her home with you. It all fits, as life *sometimes* does.
ReplyDeleteJesus Johnno!

That got to me too. I’ve followed both Pat aka Weaver and John for ages. How lovely to name new cat Weaver❤️
DeleteOh no-I’m crying now. What a lovely thing to do❤️Catriona
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful: "Weaver".
ReplyDeleteIf all goes to plan and Weaver does join your happy family John - Little kitty will live a happy, full life, same as her namesake xx
ReplyDeleteOh what a beauty she is, little Weaver. Hope everything works out that you can take her. Can't wait to hear that she's 'passed'.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet kitty. I hope she is lucky enough to be sent to you and the dogs.
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful, although I probably think all kittens are beautiful. Their little faces! Good luck with the adoption.
ReplyDeleteThat's sweet, a fitting tribute. Hope you can take her. Very grateful for your willingness to keep us informed about her namesake.
ReplyDeleteWhat a little cutie! I do hope she soon joins your gang. xx
ReplyDeleteAwww, what a cute kitten and a wonderful tribute to an esteemed fellow blogger (whose blog, sadly, I never got around to).
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back.
ReplyDeleteJane a regular reader, rear commentator. I can't understand why people feel they can say horrid things and hope you don't get any more as I would hate to see you stop posting completely. I especially love the pictures of your dogs. Hope the cat arrives soon.
Oh, I hope Weaver the Kitten will come to live with you! She does look like a worthy successor to dear old Albert. And her proposed name is a lovely tribute to your blogging friend Pat; may her transition from this life be easy and peaceful.
ReplyDeleteOf course the blessed girl's name is Weaver, one in a million.
ReplyDeleteWeaver the kitten is adorable ad hope she joins your family soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope Weaver's blog will stay avail;able so we can revisit her wise, funny, and/or interesting posts from the past. I'm never eat a Kit Kat without thinking of a certain charming Yorkshire lady.
I missed you, you know and am glad you're back.
Great choir, as always. Ta!
Hugs!
Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteAs others said on Weaver’s blog she couldn’t have picked a better person to convey her messages to blogland.
Weaver the feline looks wonderful. Looking forward to tales of a black cat on your blog again.
Very sad about Weaver. I only recently started reading her blog and I thought she was a very good writer and remarkable woman. An honor that she chose you to be her messanger.
ReplyDeleteJohn that is absolutely puuuurrfect...lol I hope you tell her if she doesn't read it on your blog.. Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear/see you!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable kitten! Easy to see why she caught your eye. Love that her name came to you at first glance!
Weaver shall be a wonderful addition to your household.
It will be good to have updates from Pat via you. I'm lucky to have met her and her farmer. She will be so missed by so many.
ReplyDeleteOooo, she is just BEEEAAUUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteI always have two kittens together, they need a playmate, hint hint! I've always had cats, always more than one. When my last two died, both black, one in 2022 aged 20 yrs and 2 months, and the other in 2023 aged 17 and a half, I was cat-less for the first time in my life. The house was empty and lonely. Some months later, January 2024, I contacted the RSPCA wanting to adopt two black kittens, we'd always had at least one black one, once even four. It was January though and they'd only got two black/white ones, he was very timid, but his sister licked my hand straight away. It's been wonderful to watch them play and learn together. They are nine months old now, still playing and sleeping together, and currently out in the garden chasing around. They are adorable, and two are no more problem than one.
Jean.
Thank you, and thank Pat for doing us this kindness.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet, John. Thanks for agreeing to keep us updated on Pat. I think of her often. I think she will get a kick out of kitty's name. xxoo
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're back. Everyone needs a friend like you.
ReplyDeleteOh that is just so lovely. A perfect name.
ReplyDeleteYou either make me laugh or cry. Having followed Weaver of Grass for a number of years, today I cried.
ReplyDeleteExcellent choices John , both the new kitten, ( fingers crossed), name and returning to write for us, thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh John - I'm so moved and happy you're naming your sweet kitten after Pat. I look forward to hearing about her adventures.
ReplyDeleteYes, I too have been following Weaver for some while. Many bloggers have disappeared without word, and I have asked my oldest son to inform blog-land when I disappear. I don't wish to sound ghoulish, but I do hope that Weaver has done the same. Her last posting was very emotional, and I cannot imagine cyber-life without her, but it comes to us all, and I suppose it is life's ultimate pirouette!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing. I wish i would have thought of it before naming the 4 kittens here Si, Mini, Possum and Tiger.
ReplyDeleteWeaver's post was not unexpected, but i was sad all the same. The end of an era. I will miss her gentle 'voice'.
so glad you are posting again, i have missed you and would hate you to stop but can understand if you feel you have to due to cowardly, nasty behaviour.
ReplyDeletelove that you picked a black kitten as they are very often overlooked in rescues. a female amongst all the male testosterone and what a beautiful appropriate name.
What a great tribute. I miss reading Weaver, send her my regards.
ReplyDeleteLike so many others have said I have followed Weaver for a long time. Worried as so many are about her I am glad she will give updates through you. Weaver is a beautiful kitten, I hope everything works out.❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteRobin
Hello, don't ever comment..but often read you & certain others..I think I see love when I read it..so much to appreciate..Weaver indeed. Think you're probably a fucking great counsellor John..
ReplyDeleteLove the name - of course I do. So glad to see a post from you. - Jackie
ReplyDeleteI never comment but today I had to as I cried when I read about your beautiful idea to name the kitten Weaver. It’s perfect!
ReplyDeleteI hope after seeing her pretty little face that "Weaver"will indeed move to Wales. Nice tribute for a lovely lady. I never really follow many blogs only you and Cro, but I do occasionally pop into one or two that have been mentioned for a looks see and did so the other day just in time to read Weavers last post which was very poignant. I wish, her through you, all the very best.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I'm not really a cat person, but I fell in love with Albert and now I think I'm about to with Weaver. What a beautiful little face. She looks magical. Nice move, John. xx
ReplyDeleteI missed you every day you were away. I love your blogs. I can't figure out how to send a heart emoji so I'm sending an imaginary one.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that you are choosing "Weaver" as the kitty name. That is special and a nice way to remember a lovely lady. I am glad Pat asked you to be her voice with updates... Dawn P. Albany, Georgia USA
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are back and hoping you get that precious cat ........love the name!
ReplyDeleteLinda from Alabama

ReplyDeleteGlad to see you writing your blog again and what a perfectly appropriate name for your sweet kitten.
ReplyDeletehope beautiful little *Weaver* will indeed come to live with you! I am not familiar with Weaver, but how fitting for this little dear to carry her name! Susan M/ Calif.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the name. Made my eyes puddle. We will all so very much miss Pat, and I'm beyond relived that she has trusted you to help keep us updated on her journey. X
ReplyDeleteI really hope that Weaver becomes part of your family.
ReplyDeleteI hope Weaver comes to take charge of those dogs! And you, of course.
ReplyDeleteI had to smile tonight,
ReplyDeleteNot only for the kindness to me ( which is always welcome) but the sharing of the obvious affection Pat the weaver of Grass has in blogland
I know the naming of the new kitten is sentimental but I don’t apologise for that . I’m a sentimental person
And “ weaver” kinda fitted rather nicely
She will have a backstory now worthy of any cat
“ a backstory worthy of any cat “
DeleteLittle gems in your replies John
Lee
I am so pleased to see your blog updated again, John, and very sad to hear about Weaver. The kitten looks very cute x
ReplyDeleteThat's a perfect name for your new cat. I have never had a cat in my life as I am extremely allergic to them.
ReplyDeletePS: I just went to the blog that was mentioned, and I must say I got quite teary eyed. My own mother is 90 and her post in some way reminded me of my mom. I will say again, Weaver is a great name.
ReplyDeleteOh, John, what a delightful idea, a baby kitten AND called Weaver. I, too, adopted a lil black kitten, a domestic long hair. This was 2-1/2 years ago and she was five months old. -still a baby. They are so beautiful with their yellow/green eyes against the black. And their silky black whiskers and ear feathers. You will love her, and the dogs will too., even if she drives them nuts. Daughter just adopted/rescued a 3-week-old bottle fed kitten. She asked hubby "Would you want to drive me two hours to pick up a bottle fed 3-week-old kitty and he answered 'sure.'"
ReplyDeleteWhat a guy.
I am a weeper at the best of times so you did me in with the name choice for the dear little kitten. Dear Weaver to be so thoughtful, I am so glad we will be getting updates and will be able to say goodbye in our hearts at the right time. It looks like you put lesion instead of lesson in your text but it still works.
ReplyDeletePerfect!
ReplyDeleteThis wide eyed kitten will make a great addition to your family. Love your name of choice, Weaver. Pat (Weaver) touched many lives in blog land. Knowing you will provide updates as she has asked will be greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteGlad you'll be sharing any updated from Weave. And hoping you get that little kitten.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you back, you were missed. I’m not a cat person but the kitten looks so sweet and Weaver is the perfect name, good to know we will have updates about Pat, she is one special lady. Blogger is insisting I’m anon. but really I’m SueJay.
ReplyDeleteNice to see you back. Good name choice for the new kitten.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tribute and so nice to know that you are taking on the responsibility of keeping the Weaver's fans updated - it is a great kindness.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. Glad the snarks haven’t won. Love that you will name the kitty Weaver if you get her. I am sure Pat will think it is lovely! I will miss her posts so much. I aspire to be someone like her. I was woebegone thinking I had lost two blogs! They keep me going. Kathy near Chicago.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful name for a beautiful kitty.
ReplyDeleteThat little kitten already seems to have such character. Weaver is a fine name for her and a lovely idea.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see your blog back and I appreciate the chance to read and join in a little with the chat. I missed it.
John, have you considered meeting Pat? Surely it would be a memory worth making.
ReplyDeleteI know it's a personal question, no need to answer.
The kitten is gorgeous, I hope she works out as planned and I'm sure she will live up to her namesake
Thank you for keeping in touch with Pat, and I am sure if you take that little kitten on she will never respond to any name you call her but for you it will bring sad/happy memories. Also thank you for being you.
ReplyDeleteThank you for allowing us to keep in touch with Pat, really sad news from her not to keep blogging. But at least we have you thank you (Sandy from mid wales)

That is so moving. I hope Weaver becomes part of your family. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteJohn, I'm so glad you are back.....I have been quietly enjoying your blog for several years, and have been quietly following Pat's blog for a little while too. She reminds me very much of my late Gran in her fortitude and ability to make the most of life's simple pleasures. I will miss her writings. I hope that little Weaver joins your family, and I think it is the most perfect name. x
ReplyDeleteA perfect name, a lovely tribute to Pat. Paws crossed that the kitten is at home with you soon xx
ReplyDeleteJohn, what a beautiful girl and a lovely tribute to weaver.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, you were missed. Weaver will be a perfect addition to your family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a loving tribute to Pat; I am sure she was delighted to know that you've named your new kitty after her. John, you are a lovely and sincere man, and a break from the blog and the wounded people who feel they must wound others is a good thing. This world needs more of you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to pay respects and a tribute to a wonderful lady. This kitten is cute as a button. I enjoy and have enjoyed your blog for many years. Jean from Manitoba, Canada
ReplyDeletePerfect name for the little cat, John. Thanksyou for posting about Pat's blog and not just leaving her readers to wonder.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! A perfect little Weaver. x
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update, Jonno. We'll all miss the Weaver of Grass. But, I hope you get to welcome the little Weaver to your home!

Adding a thank you John. As stated many times your blog is so appreciated as was Pat's Weavers of Grass. Never commented before but a long time reader of both blogs. The kitten is a perfect 'Weaver' you were meant to find rounds out the household for sure.

Dear, dear John. I am sitting here having a cry! Does me good - in my stat of health tensions build up and it is good to let them go. How sweet and how thoughtful of you to call your kitten after me - I am honoured. I love cats. I have a regular cat who pays me fleeting visits but now to have a kitten in my memory who hopefully will be a good mouser and a Welsh-lover too. Thank you dear one.
ReplyDeleteI’m so moved by the music. Love the sweet expressions on the children’s faces and the looks of professionalism on the musicians in their tuxes. Maybe there’s a shred of hope for the world.
ReplyDeleteGREAT TESTIMONY HOW I GOT MY LOAN I have a very important message to share with everyone that is in need of a loan from a genuine lender. I'm happy to share this note with everyone after what my wife and I went through in the hands of some pathetic hoodlums claiming to offer some sort of loans. It's very difficult to get a genuine lender and thanks to Best Loan lender who helped me with the loan, contact them if you are in need of a loan and come back to thank me later. I promise you they will not disappoint you. contact Email: - (pedroloanss@gmail.com WhatsApp +393510140339) Thanks.
ReplyDeleteNazgul William....
Love the name, thank you for continuing her legacy.
ReplyDeleteYour dear black kitten and its name of Weaver will always be sweet to see as a remembrance to our blogger Weaver. How good you will be sharing with us her news. You are a good guy John.
