A financial advisor called today. He was amused at Roger who whilst giddy had trouble running up and down the stairs.
“ He can’t coordinate” I explained “ He just runs at the staircase and hopes for the best”
He refused the offer of sushi
I’ll leave you with the lisping choir Grupo Talia
Your sushi is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt was bloody lovely
DeleteMaster works! As is Roger.
ReplyDeleteHe’s such a sweet dog
DeleteVery professional looking sushi, but with all the fish, I'd have passed too! Dear Roger, I love the idea that he just rushes at the stairs and hopes for the best. He'll get the hang of it one day. xx
ReplyDeleteYou can have vegetarian sushi..it is very good
DeleteAnd with slivers of meat. Too
DeleteYour sushi is so beautifully made. Are you self taught or took a class?
ReplyDeleteA financial advisor who makes house calls? Social or professional, tell us more.
Self taught , though I’m planning to go on an a Korean cookery course in the autumn
DeleteThe Korean cooking course sounds wonderful. But I don't think it includes sushi?
DeleteThe sushi ingredients all sound rather good. I am tempted to try these myself.
ReplyDeleteOh do, you can add all sorts to sushi
DeleteLooks yummy!
ReplyDeleteIt bloody was
DeleteI guess with Roger it's all about intention and less about execution.
ReplyDeleteStory of my life
DeleteMy Jack Russell Papillon cross attacks the stairs in exactly the same way as Roger - and has been known to get two steps from the top to roll all the way to the bottom again when running just a bit short of puff! So glad there is another just like it! The sushi looks amazing and I bet tasted out of this world. A financial adviser who refused such culinary delights? Did he think you were trying to bribe him? Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh Liz it’s reassuring , like a new parent, that someone else’s kid has a disability

Xx a happy post today gz
DeleteHow are you doing ?
Ohhh Love me some sushi!
ReplyDeleteAnd LISPING choir sent me! LOL
XOXO
I’m so invested in a choir I do not know…how geeky is that
DeleteI expect your financial advisor was not expectant of Roger and your kindly offer of homemade sushi - Hope Grupo Talia were playing in the background x 🍱 🎶📯
ReplyDeleteThey are always playing in my background
DeleteAs my Dad used to say, 'I've had sushi twice - a first and last time'! No thank you, John, but yours does look beautiful and professional.
ReplyDeleteRoger is a never ending delight as is the choir!
Hugs!
Babs sushi with cucumber, a tiny bit of chicken , seasoning, a cream cheese is lovely too
DeleteI love sushi and sashimi. Had the most amazing plate at the Tokyo fish market at 6:30 in the morning.
ReplyDeleteYours looks mighty fine.
How lovely , I had my best ( so far) in a supermarket cafe in Seattle
DeleteHow I miss good, inexpensive, supermarket made fresh sushi.
DeleteOh bless Roger! John, will the flower show 'novelty vegetable' class be open to international online entries this year?
ReplyDeleteYes , I’m waiting for the first photos
DeleteThe sushi looks restaurant quality. Nicely done. Roger, you got to love him!
ReplyDeleteI always have joyful tears in my eyes when he goes for the stairs , god loves a trier
DeleteThat sushi looks very professional... I'm inspired to make some definitely now! Bought all of the ingredients yesterday to give it a go but I forgot to cook the rice last night and chill it so will be a cook, cool and roll later attempt this arvo. SO bought fresh tuna to use I got some sashimi grade salmon cheap to try...salmon an avocado for me! Bless Roger all legs and no brain .... it would be a delight to watch his attempts. Love the choir!
ReplyDeleteJo a few tips
Delete.don’t be shy rolling out, be robust
Use extra rice wine vinegar when seasoning the rice
Cream cheese out of a tube is fine to use
Buy a special sushi knife ( just very sharp and used exclusively for sushi)
Ps email me photo of your sushi xxx
DeleteA lot of sushi for one person , is it for three lunches and do you wrap it in plastic to keep it fresh ?
DeleteYes and yes
DeleteI do the same. keeps well

ReplyDeleteMeanqueen’s other blog
There’s a reason anon would post this link, probably hoping for trouble making
DeleteI can’t see why , so I left it for the time being
DeleteChrist blogland is filled with too much drama , perhaps I should just withdraw Going Gently from publication
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! My god. Don't let the fuckers win!
Delete" Someone " - ( no names ) troubled with their own bile - try to vent it towards Ilona incessantly - as Ilona does a lot for others - Charities , animals etc -She's a great person x 💐
DeleteYou know you won't withdraw Going Gently, you revel in the adoration
Deleteflis stop trying to stir up trouble
How could anyone refuse sushi? It seems almost racist to me.
ReplyDeleteIt was some of my best too
DeleteA video of Roger attempting the stairs would be fun...we could all have a good laugh! With him not at him I hasten to add.!
ReplyDeleteI would try the sushi as long as there was no wasabi anywhere near it. I once took a " nibbly thing" off a plate at a wedding and had to go outside to spit it out before my head blew off!!
Your sushi looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteTodays lunch will be blonde chicken cilli.
