It’s All About The People

Kelda made us two videos to share

I wish I had taken more of the villagers in today’s exhausting Christmas Fair

Bunty in mufti

Dave Smith in his usual garb

Dave and Liz

My sister Janet and Mrs Trellis

Ian and Nick

Cameron
N
Pippa and Anne

Hattie and Adam

Cameron’s Parents

The exotic Melinka LevVey and the very sassy Loraine

Tracy Manchester with an exhausted Bridget in the background

The Manley’s

Gwawr and Jack

The day was hard work but fun, and the TCA should be praised for their dedication

We had a harpist

A community choir
And just three members of the Rhyl brass band which, despite being left in the proverbials by their colleagues managed several sets of jolly hymns

I went for the fat bastard Christmas jumper look seeing that my Victorian outfit didn’t fit
And enjoyed my lantern making

  1. Thanks for sharing. I almost feel like I was there. I must say, Jack aged 3 has a better lantern than John aged 61, but I suspect Jack had a little bit of help! 😁 xx

Sounds a fab day, nice to see all of the lovely villagers having fun. I am so envious that you had a harpist I love the instrument/music (check out Lorena McKennitt). You looked really well in your FB outfit and a good photo too. Back to scotch eggs, we have just one that was a duck egg wrapped in ham, bloody hell it was goooood πŸ˜‹. Jan in Castle Gresley

  8. I love everything about this post! The video by the Biscuit Queen's daughter (sorry, don't remember her first name) and their later photos together! Plus all the photos of Trelawnyd notables, especially Bunty! and Boffin Cameron! Too bad about the Victorian outfit not fitting, but you look very festive in your FB Xmas jumper. And special kudos to the 3 stalwart members of the Rhyl Brass Band for showing up and playing carols -- I would have gladly sat and listened to them and thrown some money in their busking container.

It’s nice to thank the video lady, who has her own rather special tiktok following I see.

John being surrounded by like minded people seems simply joyful
They are the new characters in his life after his chickens and Turkey and pigs have now gone

  21. Please thank Kelda for us. I saw Melinka in one of the videos - what a stunning dress! And I spied you - definitely festive dress too John, although you'll have to keep going with the diet so you fit the Victorian Gentleman's costume by next Christmas! You have a wonderful community spirit in Trelawny, it looked like a great event.

    Lee here,
I wasn’t going to come back but I found this post rather emotionally charged.
    You have found a niche
It may not be the partner you deserve
But it’s a group of people who are kind, and giving, and caring and likable

  29. The photos and videos made it feel like a real experience and I feel I am getting into the Christmas spirit now! A lot of time, effort and fun involved I would imagine on the day. Thank you for the invite to the village fair. Especially to Kelda for the video of the stalls - " maybe not for a Leeds fan" :)

  32. Oh, what merry japes! - costumes, hats 'n all! Noticing that among all the smiles there's definitely a scowl or two, which we'll put down to fatigue. (I trust the harpist wasn't half-pissed!).
