There are some pieces of music that just capture your heart
And piano solos can do that, sometimes almost without trying
This is my all time favourite.
Halvorsens adaptation of Handel’s Passacaglia
A flowing piece of beauty.
I’d like to add this cover of Barbara Pravi’s Eurovision hit Voila which in itself couldn’t be more French if it was wrapped in a baguette, covered in Fromage and buried in a pair of Edith Piaf’s knickers
Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what the piece of music is on the Yoann Bourgeois video a couple of posts ago?

DeleteMafnificent!
ReplyDeleteHad to chuckle at your "wrapped in a baguette and covered in Fromage. Another for your book!
Hugs!
Captivating! xx
ReplyDeleteTry anything from the miraculous Vikingur Olaffson. I am quite prepared to kidnap this person, set him in the corner of my sitting room and pretend he is my music centre. Hmn....
ReplyDeleteBoth beautiful. What a stunning voice.
ReplyDeleteThat young girl was a revelation
DeleteBoth videos are revelations!
ReplyDeleteIn love with both of those, I nearly went to bed and would have missed your post. It was so lovely to see an audience really listening, reacting in a quiet appropriate way to the girl's singing, she certainly has soul. The Handel was sublime. Do you like Einaudi at all?
ReplyDeleteLove him
DeleteExcellent, I hoped you would :)
Deleteyes, magnificent is a good word. the piano and the violin are two instruments that alone, have always been able to move me beyond words..... also was greatly moved by the choir video you posted last week (I raise you up?)...... you raise me up? ......I was moved to *good* tears. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSusan M/ Calif.
It’s a lovely song, one I can sing well
DeleteBoth very beautiful pieces of music . I do like Edith also, but I like most music except rap. The girl really sang with feeling, wow. Gigi
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteBoth moving pieces, but especially that young woman, with her 'back story' was just gorgeous. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteEmma has a beautiful voice. I predict a good future for her!!!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful voice and a beautiful child. I liked the piano too.
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely pieces of music. Wonderful to see Emma battling illness with such bravery - and talent.
ReplyDeleteThat piano piece is indeed quite lovely and familiar too.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't all pianists sound like that?
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is WOW!
ReplyDeleteHalvorsen's hands are such a pleasure to watch.
