It’s been a lovely day.
In the end we missed the Murano trip so leapt on the first vaparetto and braved the sights in Venice’s centre.
It was glorious but quite hot and yes I did wear my hat.
We arrived back in out quiet North West corner of Venice at 4pm and spent 4.5 hours in the same cafe, eating wafer thin pizza, drinking spritzers, talking and people watching
The Guggenheim tomorrow
Hey ho
You're living the dream John x ☕🍸🏛🛳 🇮🇹
ReplyDeleteHaving a lovely time. Wish I was there! xx
ReplyDeleteRemember that when most of the amazing and lovley buildings were built, they were made bt hand by skilled and dedicated craftsmen and perhaps some craftswomen, too. You're never too old to be creative!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
It all looks so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's so amazing, isn't it, John?!
ReplyDeleteMy first Aperol Spritz was on St Marks Square, double the price and a life time of memories

It sounds fabulous. I looove Murano glass so I would have been super annoyed to miss that but you seem to have made up for the loss quite nicely :)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to be there! Enjoying your photos. I think you have the best of both worlds by choosing a hotel in a quieter district. Your relaxed cafe afternoon is a great way to spend your time in Venice.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful there. X
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. You can just go to Murano and the other islands on the vaporetto, buttered so much to see in Venice itself - save that for your next trip.
ReplyDelete'but there is' - damn you, autocorrect!
ReplyDeleteI am so envious. Enjoy it doubly for me. Are the usual places very crowded?
ReplyDeleteAre there still a million pigeons in St. Mark's Square?
