My bladder is playing up today. It does this from time to time and as it was with Paul Edgecombe from The Green Mile I’ve been plagued by cramps and pain that arrives and leaves like lightening .
I’m not moving too far from home today.
I’ve completed the jobs I mentioned yesterday including a somewhat colourful wrestling match with Dorothy in the shower.
She now smells of coconut.
My final job was to measure and mark my front gate.
Village Leader Ian, who has lived down the lane for years admitted that he has been bugged by my gate for most of that time.
It used to be the gate to my pig pen and before that was a gate to one of the 1920’s Council houses in Erw Wen and it’s never properly fitted my narrow path and it’s bother Ian’s neat mind so much he’s offered to have his own blacksmith to reduce its size.
How kind is that?
Albert has walked down the stairs like an old man and yowled loudly for something to eat.
I am so happy that Albert has rallied - I've been worried about him - and are you certain it's not your appendix John as I had similar and it was difficult to diagnose Dr said - as mines in an odd place - I too use coconut oil daily - it's my friend x🍂
ReplyDeleteI think we have a pattern now with Albert . Poorly for a day, hide away, better a few days later.
DeleteWe will see how he goes
So sorry that you're not feeling so good and hope rest, fluids, and meds will set you right quickly.
ReplyDeleteHow marvelous Albert Albert is hungry. May he rally to enjoy lots more of life.
Well done in working through your list, too!
Hugs!
I’ve been to TCA meeting tonight too
DeleteAs they say, keep up the fluids..and the same for Albert? Glad he is as vocal as ever.
ReplyDeleteA coconut smelling bulldog...far better than the alternative!!
The smell woke me up this morning
DeleteI hope the UTI clears soon. Although you know what to do, it's still a (literal) pain. Glad you're resting. How kind of Ian to offer to pay for the gate to be adjusted, and how wonderful that a part of the village lives on. I hope the warmer weather helps Albert's old bones, too. And a coconut smelling Dorothy, how lovely. Mind you, from what you implied, anything would be preferable! xx
ReplyDeleteI’m feeling better this evening, an extra dose of antibiotics and lots of diet coke
DeleteMy to do list never gets any shorter because I work at a snails pace now. Glad Abert is still being feisty by demanding food.
ReplyDeleteHe was foul tempered so that’s normal for him
DeleteThat pain is horrible. You are not my age yet but I would suggest you visit a Urologist if you have not done so. Those issues that plague many of us men as we age can often be addressed by a simple daily pill. Mine has been for a number of years now and I would not change the process for all the tea in China. There are some side effects which you need to have explained carefully if you go that route. Best to you and all your fur babies. Glad Albert is doing better and that Dorothy smell nice at last.
ReplyDeleteI’m under an urologist xx
DeleteSo glad to hear Albert has walked downstairs and yowled for something to eat! Hope he's felt up to going into the garden to sun himself and relax.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you're plagued by bladder issues today. You know what to do as you've been through this before. Take good care of yourself --- fluids, meds, rest.
Ian sounds a dear, and how fortunate you all are to have such good neighbors and a lovely community.
Hoping you & Albert feel much better very soon!
He’s eaten tea and have returned to his cafe under the spare bed
DeleteCave
DeleteWill you have a new sign on the gate: "The Pig Pen"?
ReplyDeleteHow very dare you
DeleteLol
I had to read that whole bloody post to get to the important bit!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, a sigh of relief has gone out in blog land that Albert is feeling better.
PS Sorry your bladder is playing up again
The good news is that at the age of 15 he’s now mastered using the cat litter tray in the spare room
DeleteUTI's (infection) are horrible in any form. With frequency you experience, I am wondering if you should consider having your immune system checked. There might be something brewing and a solution available. Dorothy's coconut scent sounds greatly improved over a funky scent. Albert's appetite is a good sign.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been on the urology waiting list over 18 months
DeletePoor you and those UTIs. Hope this “passes” quickly. So kind of Village Leader Ian. That should be a refreshing change to the entry. SG hates coconut so much that he doesn't even like being near “creamed” people on the beach. He would not enjoy Dorothy's company right now.
ReplyDeleteOh he would compared to her usual Fanny smell
DeleteNope. He prefers the smell of a pig sty over the smell of coconut. (Not just prefers... he LOVES the smell of a pig sty.)
DeleteI’d keep the gate as a decoration against a stone wall and just have a new gate made.
ReplyDeleteGood idea but I’m rather attached to my gate ,
DeleteLots of would be medics on here to advise you!
ReplyDeleteHope it soon clears.
I feel better already xx
DeleteSorry you are feeling punk today, not a nice feeling! Happy that Albert has come down hungry. Hope you both have a quick recovery. After seeing all you got done yesterday, I washed the second duvet, so today my job was go buy bread and milk. While there I noticed the truck unloading Mandevilla trellis and I buy one every year if I get there before they sell out so I got lucky. I like how it curls itself around the railing on my front porch. Love your gate, so nice that Ian will get it sized for you. Look after yourself, please and give the family cuddles including you, from GGxx
ReplyDeleteI had to Google Mandevilla trellis
DeleteI thought you’d found out Mrs Trellis’ first name
And I had to look up Mrs. Trellis lol
DeleteLook after yourself, nights are a killer and then you are so busy with lots of things going on plus having to shower Dorothy. Hugs to you all, noreen
ReplyDeleteBack on nights tomorrow 🤢
ReplyDeleteAnd your garden looks splendid through the cottage window. Hope the bladder settles soon. x
ReplyDeleteI feel b3tter tonight thanks pat x
DeleteThat gate looks fine to me, I don't see what the issue is? Glad to hear that Albert is hungry and demanding food!
ReplyDeleteLook closely , it’s too wide for the gap , the prof’s only bike lock keeps it closed
DeleteHow sweet of your neighbors to right size the gate. Take care of yourself. Albert is an old man - good sign that he wants to eat.
ReplyDeleteWe plod along x
DeleteI'm glad to hear that Albert's hunger dragged him out of hiding.
ReplyDeleteHe had a poo in the garden, that was a first
DeleteUTI's suck. I have had heaps over the years; thank god they seem to have gone now. I hope your bladder problem rights itself real soon, feeling under the weather is a pain. Yay for Albert getting a bit of his strength back and having something to eat. Pooing in the garden a first; does that mean he is staying closer to home than usual?? Got to love a coconut scented bulldog!
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland
I’m used to them , had them off and on since 1995
DeleteThat gate is oversized. It will be interesting to see how they reduce it. Ever thought of a wooden gate?
ReplyDeleteI need to watch my pennies
DeleteMy unsolicited advice: I recently heard on the news that cranberry juice is not an old wives tale but really does help.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are better soon.
How, without a screen on that window, do you not end up with a houseful of flies and mosquitoes by leaving it open like that? Must be like paradise not to need screens! We can't get away with that here (Sask.). -Kate
