I would hate to be a teen again - all that angst about everything. Yes, the trick to clothes is, don't wear skin tight if you're a little chunky, go large. Ask me how I learned that one! Mind you, BG was very slim then anyway. xx
I had an art student girlfriend who always wore long baggy jumpers. She said to cover her bum. She had a rather nice shapely bum - this back in the 80s when peachy rears, at least in the straight world, weren't as celebrated as much as they are now (there's probably a social history of bottom fashions out there somewhere). I think people should wear what they want, but not be embarrassed by their bodies - whatever shape we are, there's always someone out there to love us. Boy George? He pinched that look off of the kaftan king, Mr Beard, Demis Roussos!
In honour of Boy George you could copy his look. The beard will have to go and you'll need a good plucking plus hair extensions. You will look so cool dancing down the lane with the dogs.
I enjoyed Culture Club, too, and have recently revisited Queen and U2. There is so much wonderful music to enjoy! John, You're just right the way you are.

ReplyDeleteOh I wildly disagree. It depends on what it is! I do love BG's style. And music. and he's still a lovely human.
DeleteI was old when I was young , I wish I hadn’t been. I wish now that I was a wild thing skipping to a loud tune
DeleteGo for it, John! Put the radio on loudly and sing and dance your heart out. xx
DeleteI'm 63 and dance at the drop of a hat x
DeleteSaw Culture Club at Wembley 1984/85? We were dancing in the aisles. Lots of fun. (I was a very self-centred teenager. I really hope I've changed.)
ReplyDeleteAll teenagers are self centred lol
DeleteMaybe looser and longer tops are the way to go.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what I would change if I could return to my teens but remember everything was very intense.
Yes, I don’t want to return to the emotional jacuzzi
DeleteDrag from the neck up. Don't have to bother with falsies or tucking the junk.
ReplyDeleteHe was a one off, and did a great deal of goodme thinks
DeleteYou could visit an ethnic outfitter and browse their rails - You may find something to take your fancy John x
ReplyDeleteI think I’m too old for that now flis
DeleteI liked them. They were outrageous, and that was good!

DeleteI loved Culture Club (although I wasn't a teen). I don't know what I would do if I were a teen again.
ReplyDeleteWe’re you a wild teen
DeleteI wasn't actually wild. But I did do things I wasn't supposed to. Unlike my sister, I kept it all from my parents, so they didn't know how bad I was.
DeleteOoohh do tell

ReplyDeleteLol I know where this is headed
DeleteYou'd rock a smock at 60 John!

ReplyDeleteHe would not need to do all that to copy what he looks like these days.
Deletethats a nice and kind comment
DeleteA fat old poof eh Tom?
DeleteNot particularly. That's just your and anon's interpretation. What I meant is that we all grow old.
DeleteWe loved Boy George when I was in high school, but he was so "out there" that none of us would have considered trying to dress like him!
ReplyDeleteWere you more anew romantic
DeleteI enjoyed Culture Club, too, and have recently revisited Queen and U2. There is so much wonderful music to enjoy!
