My fugue state of yesterday irritated me greatly
It was time for a bra strap hike
And so I took advantage of a friend’s insomnia and a quiet hour at work and arranged for us to meet in a couple of weeks time in Manchester. I’ve booked us a good deal in a hotel , a nice table at Mowgli and tickets to see Let The Right One In at the Royal Exchange . ( a theatre production of the hit Swedish film of the same name ) a play which has excellent reviews on line.
Something to look forward to, even though I can’t really afford it.
But we will go Dutch.
That’s the ticket.
Blogland has not heard from The Weaver Of Grass for a week or so. And messages are slowly starting to build on her blog asking if all is well. I hope it is . My thoughts are with her.
I'm worried too. Let's hope she's okay.
ReplyDeleteI e. Even worried as well
ReplyDeleteYes, I am hoping the family has taken Weaver off for a birthday treat, but I have been getting anxious.
ReplyDeleteI hope your Manchester treat is the fillip you need. t's ok to feel down, or flat, sometimes, and miss those "we loved but see no more", but, as you say, you've got to take a pull of the bra straps, and plod on. Sending you strengthening thoughts.
I was going to ask you if you had heard anything from Weaver. She’s had a few falls lately. Good on you for booking tickets. You need that
ReplyDeleteBlog-world isn't the same without Weave; I too hope she's OK, and will soon be back with us.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping she is all right too.
ReplyDeleteWhen everything feels flat it's good to have something enjoyable to look forward to. A tasty bowl of soup is pretty helpful too though!
Yes, I noticed she hasn't commented on your blog for a while. Hope she's OK.
ReplyDeleteMaking plans in the wee small hours - great! xx
A trip is needed to lift spirits..even a short one!
ReplyDeleteI hope Weave is ok. The weather hasn't been too nice where she is of late, either.
I wonder if Pat is feeling a bit under the weather possibly after a flu or covid vaccination x
ReplyDeleteIt is good that you have something nice lined up to do. I should practice this myself! I hope that the Weaver of Grass is just too busy with Birthday celebrations prep that she hasn't had time to blog. x
ReplyDeleteShe has been on my mind a great deal lately. She's the first blog I check when I get on the computer. Enjoy your outing John.
ReplyDeleteIsn't there anyone here who has a way to contact Weaver or her son to get some news? It's not like her to say nothing for a week and I'm afraid something bad has happened. I sure hope not.
ReplyDeleteRachel has those details.
DeletePlanning a day away, can be as invigorating as taking a day away. Take care, We should all have back- emergency contacts
ReplyDeleteIm glad you spoke of Weaver I have been wondering and worrying. Jean in Winnipeg
ReplyDeleteI noticed that. It's always a worry when they are absent.
ReplyDeleteI sent a comment to her son's blog but no response yet.
ReplyDeleteCan you let us all know Ellen if u getca reply
DeleteBrilliant Ellen! Ta
DeleteHugs!
That's exactly what I did, Ellen!!!!
DeleteOhh this could be a great play!
ReplyDeleteThe book the movie is based on is fantastic. Let us know what you think of the play.
Hope your Blog-friend is ok! I feel the same when one of the Blogfamily suddenly drops out.
XOXO
I share everyone's concern for Weave's wellbeing.
ReplyDeleteNice plans for next week and going Dutch is just fine.
Hugs!
I thought I read a recent comment on Weave's blog stating she had a fall and broke her hip. My thoughts are with Weave and I hope she is okay. Theater with a friend will be good fun. Something in the works to look forward to always works wonders.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time in Manchester. I have still never been there, which is shameful considering I've lived in this country for a decade.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for Weaver. Keep us posted.
I do hope she's ok. She's such an inspirational lady.
ReplyDeleteEllen above has done the most practical thing
ReplyDeleteI came on here to see if you had heard any news of Weaver. Hoping she is just having to rest or having a problem with the computer.
ReplyDeleteYour weekend in Manchester sounds just the ticket. Bet you can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI read your blog and The Weaver everyday but rarely comment. I get such pleasure from reading both. Like everyone I am worried about Pat and hope to hear soon. Your trip to Manchester sounds great, can’t wait to read about it!
I came here to see if you had heard as well. We're all family in blogland and I've had a couple of our regular readers reach out to me as well to check on her.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time away, let your mind clear and enjoy...XO
John, hello. I wanted to commiserate with you on Pat. I went to her sons blog and posed a question on her well being. His blog does not show my comment as being posted so that makes me worried too.
