I’m just enjoying one of the most underrated Westerns in cinema . Open Range (2003) stars Kevin Costner ,Robert Duvall ( at his most understated) and the gloriously attractive Annette Benning
The film says a lot about respect, friendship and loneliness. I’m enjoying it with a beer and a large packet of cheese and onion
Benning is the only woman I’d ever go straight for.
As if you could x
ReplyDeletePie in the sky lol , see you soon …do u like grapes
DeleteCannot eat them
DeleteWell, as it's unlikely you'll ever get the chance, I guess all those hunky, bearded gays out there can rest easy! xx
ReplyDeleteLol, I wish
DeleteDo you like her floppy hair John? x
ReplyDeleteI love her character in the film ,
DeleteShe is one of the most attractive handsome women I can think of....
ReplyDeleteMe too
DeleteIt must be underrated because I never heard of it. I like both Duvall and Benning, so that would make it worth watching.
ReplyDeletePlease watch it , it’s quite lovely
DeleteI agree she is a very attractive woman.
ReplyDeleteThere’s something earthy about her
DeleteConversely I could imagine changing teams for her.
ReplyDeleteYes, she is a looker. And smart.
ReplyDeleteAnd sassy
DeleteDid you see her in The American President with Michael Douglas? I really liked that movie.. I did not care for Open Range.. Its been years since i've seen it but i remember thinking the acting was so bad.. oh well .. I may have to watch it again.
ReplyDeleteShe was lovely as Sidney in that movie
DeleteAB an Oscar winner and very relatable beauty. I'm a fan too.
ReplyDeleteStarted watching it when it first came out and got sidetracked. (The story of my life) I'm glad you gave me a reason to return to it and finish watching it.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'll try and find it. Robert Duvall is one of my truly favorite actors.
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite movie, and I love Lonesome Dove and Silverado. A Western movie girl. Just love, love Duvall and Costner living by the Cowboy Code. I watch it a couple of times a year.
ReplyDeleteNot your typical beauty but something from within. I love her too.
ReplyDeleteYou mean straight like an arrow at a cocktail party?
ReplyDeleteI too have always had the hots for Annette B. - at least if it's possible for a 100% (or near as dammit) gay man to have such. I remember the first time I saw her on screen (in 1989's 'Valmont') and didn't know who she was, I did wonder if it could be Jenny Agutter, another of the small handful of female stars who've made a very deep life's
ReplyDeleteimpression on my psyche.
I understand what you mean about the comparison with Jenny Agutter... they seem to have similar visage. I think Jenny Agutter plays the nun in Call the midwife.
DeleteJo in Auckland
Yes, she does, Jo, though I've never seen it.
DeleteWhen I first watched 'Valmont' with Annette B., I'd not seen Jenny A. in anything other than 'Railway Children' 19 years earlier (still one of my all-time 20 favourite films!) and it was right from that early film that she'd made such a strong impression on me - and continues to do so.
Enjoyed that film very much. Love Robert Duvall and Kevin Costner.
ReplyDeleteLove Kevin Costner in anything.
ReplyDeleteEven in soiled and baggy Y-fronts?
DeleteMust look out for that film..we watch so few these days
ReplyDeleteI wouldn’t go as far as you (as if), but I do understand. I haven’t seen the film.
ReplyDeleteWell well well...I just knew we were meant for each other. I look exactly like Annette Benning. Just wondering how you 'll cope wearing an akubra ,R M William boots and the heat in the outback. Can you sing? I prefer a tenor voice:)
ReplyDeleteSeeing Annette Benning in Grifters made me a fan!
ReplyDeleteI watched the trailer but decided against the movie. To be honest I'm sick and tired of american rah-rah. This is my land, you can't tell me what to do, all the conflict. We watched the new Top Gun and thought exactly the same. US decides they have to stop a rogue nation from producing enriched uranium. Define rogue. Then lots of improbable shit. I'm in a mood obviously:)
