I remember the misic and it was a blast to hear it again. Ta!! As for the garlic, ours looks like a Dr. Seuss plant. All that garlic in your photo looks like too much of a good thing.
Yes, I remember that music and the series. One of those programmes that everyone watched. Humming it to myself now. That wild garlic looks spectacular. Did you pick any? xx
I bought the single of Eye Level for my Dad! The whole family watched Van Der Valk, but I found Barry Foster a huge turn off, he was far too bland and boring looking for my teenage taste! I have a huge tub of wild garlic in the back garden, and have already got a fair bit of pesto made and frozen. I also have a large pot of triangular leeks, which are a lot more 'oniony' in flavour, but delicious, and the flowers are wonderful on a salad! Col. X
Never saw any of that TV series but do remember the record getting to #1. Even now the tune always makes me want to mouth the words "Tetley's time of day !" - maybe 'cos there was such a TV commercial around then?)
I wonder if the scent effusing from those garlic groves is the same as that from garlic CLOVES. If so I'd be keeping a mile away.
Will have to look out for wild garlic although not sure there is any growing near me. Would love to learn a bit about foraging too! Hope your day goes well today.
The only place I ever saw wild garlic was when I lived in the north east. I have never seen it, or smelt it, around here. I hope you are up this morning before the bathroom fitter arrives.

ReplyDeleteI love wild garlic. I used to see lots of it when I walked Olga on Hampstead Heath. Alas, we don't get over there as much anymore!
