While I was at work my sister had replanted the back garden with flowering shrubs and plants and flowers. It’s an early and very welcomed birthday gift .
She left instructions for me to water them all in when I got home and so with due diligence I soaked the dry flower beds as the girls ate their dinners and a dog fox barked loudly from down the Felin.
Jo ,a blog reader from Coventry sent me some gifts for the new bathroom which was kind and fun and my nephew Leo sent me a selfie of himself and his new girlfriend grinning wide at the camera…..and feeling suddenly good humoured I found a bottle of Peroni in the fridge and took the girls over to the field to lie down on the damp grass.
Mary and I looked up at the sky
As Dorothy and Albert just mooched about
I chugged the beer
And as the fox continued to call
We watched the clouds until dusk
Watch out. Super Moon eclipse tonight.
ReplyDeleteI’ll be cutting all my hair off by midnight I suspect
DeleteBetter than someone else creeping in when you are asleep and doing it for you.
DeleteThere’s at least 2 here that would do it
DeleteWho's the other one?
DeleteThis is all very good to hear. Hopefully all the ungreat things that lined up at once, start getting resolved and you'll be well with a functioning bathroom and a beautiful back yard <3
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to know that your sister has planted even more lovely blooms and blossomes for you to enjoy! Perhaps you need to choose a vase to bring some flowers into the new bathroom?
ReplyDeleteHugs!
See tomorrow’s post
DeleteLife is good.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite handy with a pair too x
ReplyDeleteA perfect way to end the day!
ReplyDeleteFully installed new flowering shrubs and plants from Janet is a perfect birthday gift. You'll enjoy this every single day.
ReplyDeleteWe were promised storms for last night.... Nothing.
ReplyDeleteSo your premonition of a big change was right. A new garden! What a lovely, thoughtful gift. How great that your nephew's romance continues to blossom, too. Bathroom almost completed, ready for the final titivation. Everything in your garden (literally and metaphorically) is looking good. xx
ReplyDeleteThat was a cheerful homecoming after what was probably a difficult day. Hope you might be able to avoid a really bad infection episode if you catch it in time. Maybe you are a bit run down after Covid and also the time spent out and about without relaxing at home properly without easy access to a bathroom has been a factor.
ReplyDeleteCloud watching at dusk with your animals sounds wonderful. I think the eclipse tonight is quite early but I would like to see it. Magical.
Just realised it was early this morning so will have to watch it on youtube now.
DeleteBet that beer really helped that urine infection
ReplyDeleteA little of what you fancy is.quite fine x
DeleteA lovely garden gift.
ReplyDeleteThe eclipse was at moonset.. early morning I think, we saw the moon rising. Cloudy here of course when anything interesting is going on in the sky!
Sounds like a scene from "The Last of The Summer Wine" and there you are playing... Compo, of course.
ReplyDeleteSounds nice. Did you not get rain yesterday? We got a good soaking here in London.
ReplyDeleteWow...poetry in life.
