You are so talented John-especially the camel and octypus-they really are wonderful-and I think just the addition of a couple of little figures could complete the yellow brick road-nice colour spoon depository x
They're all lovely; I especially like the wee spoon. If ever there was a place for a quirk, then it's a salt spoon, no? You'll love using it, it'll make you smile every time.
The camel is adorable and it's in the same colours as a tea pot my grandmother had. The pot somehow represented everything about her house and it was the only thing i asked for when she died. I didn't get it, I suspect it went to auction.
Well done! Love the colorful pottery you've made. Do keep in mind they're one of a kind on the planet because no one could have used the glazes exactly like you did. Hope your name and the year is etched into the bottom of each piece as someone, someday will want to know.
The octopus is brilliant. Love the camel but agree the letter holder is a bit lurid 🙂. That's the beauty of pottery, you're never quite sure how the final colours will work out- a surprise every time. PS: your friend will adore the soon.
I love them all! There is something very special about hand made pottery. The camel and octopus are especially nice. Are you still going to make the chess pieces?
I made one clay item in art class when I was about 8 years old. It was a teddy bear. I was proud of my efforts, but most around me were not, and i never tried making anything out of clay again.
I love all your projects and so admire your talent. The spoon is perfect for its purpose, so charming and made with love. I expected the letter holder to be waves in blue and turquoise but it is actually very evocative of your Welsh hills when you climb high. Someone mentioned it is red? I don't see red, makes me wonder about my eyes and monitor, lol.

ReplyDeleteThey are all worthy, but that octopus ROCKS!
ReplyDeleteWell my friend Ruth started that one off
DeleteI would happily have any of them in my house, especially the fat camel. So, if you don't want any of them... xx 😄
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of u

ReplyDeleteIt’s a gift for my friend Jane in Sheffield
DeleteThey all look like so much fun, and you made them. A long way from a lump of clay.
ReplyDeleteDon't do yourself down like that - I think they are all lovely - especially the letter rack or toast rack.
ReplyDeleteXx
DeleteThe camel has the feeling of a glazed Tan Dynasty piece. I have had those things through my hands in the past.
ReplyDeleteOr did I mean Han? It would be nice if I knew what I was talking about.
DeleteHan. I have had their pigs.
DeleteThanku
DeleteYou are a very talented young man John! The letter rack is a bit "iffy" (not a fan of yellow or red) but the others are great!
ReplyDeleteLol
DeleteThat letter holder? Needs 'The Scream' figure. You could use it to hold your bills.
ReplyDeleteJohnny Potter! Harry's secret brother. Shame you were expelled from Hogwarts!
ReplyDeleteI'd have any one of those pieces in my home...and knowing you made them makes them even nicer.
ReplyDeleteLike them all, but I LOVE that octopus. I'd buy that on Etsy right now, ha. Nice job!!

ReplyDeleteThe octopus is just glorious
The octopus steals this show. It's a cracker.
ReplyDeleteThe Camel looks as it comes from the Tang dynasty. Wonderful.

Reminds me of Wade pottery.

ReplyDeleteGood on you for your efforts, John the dogs. x
You might be right about the spoon but the camel and the octopus are beautiful.
