I rang Mrs Trellis earlier and thanked her for the three quarter bottle of Chablis which was dropped off on Thursday
“ I left it with love “ she twittered kindly and without edge
She then changed the subject about Village farmer Basil
I suddenly felt like crying
Love is heartfelt and returned to you John. Thank you for sharing another wonderful peak into your life. Dee
ReplyDeleteI have said before John - so many people in your village - and on your blog too - look at you with genuine love and affection - you are much loved by us all.
ReplyDeleteI’m am and I know
DeleteWet lettuce x
ReplyDeleteI’m not as strong as you mave x
DeleteIt's good she sampled it for you first. :)
ReplyDeleteMrs. Trellis is quite the character.
ReplyDeleteI feel quite emotional when I hear of Mrs Trellis and her rather eccentric ways of showing much fondness for you John x
ReplyDeleteMrs Trellis is a joy, helpful and kind in unusual, thoughtful ways, from caring for the girls to caring for you ... and acting as the court taster, to keep you safe. How very, very nice.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Loved by many
ReplyDeleteYou are loved and admired, so accept it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great thing to say. She sounds like a wonderful "neighbor" to have.
ReplyDeleteYou are surrounded by love John.
ReplyDeleteOne of the presents I received for Christmas was a Champagne stopper. Have you ever heard of someone not finishing a bottle of Champagne? Not me!
ReplyDeleteCro, some people do use Champagne stoppers, in between pouring the first and second glass, to keep the bubbles from escaping - even if the intention is to polish the bottle off in an evening. Particularly if it's a size MagnUm (1.5 l).
DeleteA "brut" (very dry, unsweetened) salut,

"She left it with love." What a dear thing to say! She may have her oddities, but she is really very kind, isn't she?
ReplyDeleteThat comment would have made me emotional too. Acts of kindness and love.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, spontaneous, heartfelt reply by Mrs T. But it doesn't surprise me, you are loved. (Mind you, it made me a bit teary, too!) xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a loving response (hers and yours).
ReplyDeleteI thought this was going to be about your garden, but this is much better x
ReplyDeleteYou have such lovely neighbours John. But when I read Trellis I immediately thought about putting some each side of my back door and growing sweet peas or jasmine up them in big pots.
ReplyDeleteAw, that was nice :-)
ReplyDeleteMy first thought when I saw your title on my sidebar was 'Mrs or Wooden?' I should have guessed it would be the lovely Mrs Trellis.
