Normality

Just having three guests
Fills the cottage
I haven’t had more than one visitor here for a year and a half
and having serious, funny, raucous, and important conversations over dinner and wine
feeds your soul and makes things seem so much nicer than they did before

    1. I was thinking out loud due to an experience in the summer with a friend who is no longer drinking, It changed the complex of social gatherings. Nothing sinister meant in the comment.

    4. Rachel does raise an interesting concept.

Imagine you were stranded on a desert island, and all those crates of wine, whiskey, beer (indeed Noilly Prat) on board, whatever your delicious poison and oblivion had been swept away along with the ship and the tide.

Brilliant. Now you don't so much look yourself in the face (you lost your mirror too) as into your soul. No, forget the soul. Your body is screaming at you.

Naturally, and I am sure Tom has something to contribute here, it's shite going Cold Turkey. Spiders will come at you and your mother. The latter, I hasten to add, to come to your rescue. LEAVE ME ALONE, you shout.

As to my credentials, my first husband, he was peace reincarnated, did WORK (he wasn't an inmate) in Rehab (drugs). Dear dog in heaven, John. I was only twenty. I baked them cakes.

Back to the subject rather than my diving into my treasure trove of unwanted reminiscences, and I wouldn't be me if I didn't find something to make someone think: At your age you shouldn't suffer hangovers. I am not funny here. It's not a reprimand. It's a fact: At your age you shouldn't suffer a hangover. I'd love to elaborate on this but then ... Anyway, nothing that paracetamol laced with codeine can't cure. Short of hair of the dog. No not William or Winnie.

Great you had a good evening.

Hugs and kisses, and no I am not drunk other than on the joy of life,
      U

How sweet it was and am glad all had such a good time together again - at last!
Was William's contribution to the upstairs wall discussed? If so, what ideas were voiced?
Enjoy today and hope you're feeling 100% great.

    Hugs!

  14. Wondered several times during the evening how it was going. Hope you also catch up on Strictly and have the tissues handy for the last dancers.

  15. Sounds like everyone had a good time and all went well. No spills...so everyone went home fully clothed. Unlike your wonderful evening, I attended a zoom baby shower. Our covid numbers are rising and the in person option was decided against. Sigh.
