Back To Work

Back to work today, so it’s bucket of coffee time at 6.20 am and I’ve packed my antibiotics for the day.

I’m not doing anything of note until Thursday when Gorgeous Dave  and I are off to see An Evening With Nigella Lawson. He has been given clear instructions not to get an erection when she describes her cooking with her usual sexual sub references.
Saturday I’m going to London again, this time to meet my nephew for a day at comic con
He’s warmed me that he’s dressing up as what looks like a red superhero
Gawd help me.
For the first time since I started work at the Hospice, I have Christmas Day off.
The family in its entirety have planned to meet up at my sister’s home on the day
There will at least sixteen of us all told.
What fun
Hey ho

  1. Glad you're feeling well enough to go back to work. Illness sucks! Am I the only person in the world who can't stand Nigella? The way she grins at the camera all the time really irritates me. Which superhero are you going to be dressed as - SuperUncle? 🦸xx

  2. Great that you and your nephew will be having a day out together.
Hope you have a quiet day at work.
I find Nigella a lovely lady but sometimes the way she talks about her cooking and looks coyly at the camera make it fun but hard to follow the recipe :)

  3. Nothing better than to be clasped to the communal bosom of one's wider family. Sixteen for Christmas Lunch? Your sister is a brave woman. Presumably with an oven big enough to match her generous hospitality.

I think you need to take a wooden spoon with you to see Nigella. Any sign of Dave arousal, give it a good whack.
You will have the best Christmas gathering ever and one to remember.

  5. Nigella. Just tell Dave to think of who her dad is if any stirrings below the belt and no erection conundrum.

  6. How wonderful to be able to gather for Christmas again. Will you take photos at Comic Con? I've never been, but I'm sure it's something I'd enjoy.

  9. Take care, in work and especially back in London. These flare-ups seem to happen after an outing.

  10. Sixteen? Christ! You will be lucky if you get a morsel of turkey and one tiny pig in a blanket.

  12. So, all it takes for Gorgeous Dave to NOT get an erection is to be warned by you? What power you have.

So pleased you get to enjoy Christmas with the family.

  13. I am looking forward to getting back to work myself (another four to six weeks apparently). Sounds like Christmas day will be a grand occasion, daughter and son in law coming to ours this year (I'm struggling with this amount of people in our abode!).
I am afraid that I totally understand Gorgeous Dave's nether region reaction regard Nigella....
hope the antibiotics do their job

  14. Take it easy back at work ... is that even possible!! I hope it goes well. I am totally jealous of you going to an evening with Nigella Lawson, I will have to make do with some of her old Christmas cooking shows on Food Network tv.

Sixteen for Christmas lunch, now that will be absolutely brilliant. I would love a huge family Christmas, but as long as I have someone on the other end of my cracker I will be happy :-)

  15. LOL. As a comic geek, I assure you, "red superhero" does not narrow it down any. I hope you will take lots of pics at the con and share them. Even if it's not your "thing," it should eb quite visually entertaining.

  19. "A red superhero" -- the Flash? He'll have to educate you. Then tell the rest of us. And show us a photo!

  20. At Comic Con sometimes they let children in free who are wearing costumes. Might be worth while checking out.

  27. We have been to Comic Con several times and had a blast each time. Do be prepared for a crowd. We enjoyed the panels where various stars talked about their roles. You could dress as someone from The Walking Dead!
