Back to work today, so it’s bucket of coffee time at 6.20 am and I’ve packed my antibiotics for the day.
I’m not doing anything of note until Thursday when Gorgeous Dave and I are off to see An Evening With Nigella Lawson. He has been given clear instructions not to get an erection when she describes her cooking with her usual sexual sub references.
Saturday I’m going to London again, this time to meet my nephew for a day at comic con
He’s warmed me that he’s dressing up as what looks like a red superhero
Gawd help me.
For the first time since I started work at the Hospice, I have Christmas Day off.
The family in its entirety have planned to meet up at my sister’s home on the day
There will at least sixteen of us all told.
What fun
Hey ho
Glad you're feeling well enough to go back to work. Illness sucks! Am I the only person in the world who can't stand Nigella? The way she grins at the camera all the time really irritates me. Which superhero are you going to be dressed as - SuperUncle? 🦸xx
ReplyDeleteI’m not quite right but ok
DeleteGreat that you and your nephew will be having a day out together.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a quiet day at work.
I find Nigella a lovely lady but sometimes the way she talks about her cooking and looks coyly at the camera make it fun but hard to follow the recipe :)
I love to see her flirting
DeleteNothing better than to be clasped to the communal bosom of one's wider family. Sixteen for Christmas Lunch? Your sister is a brave woman. Presumably with an oven big enough to match her generous hospitality.
ReplyDeleteU
My sister is our matriarch
DeleteI think you need to take a wooden spoon with you to see Nigella. Any sign of Dave arousal, give it a good whack.
ReplyDeleteYou will have the best Christmas gathering ever and one to remember.
Lol I worked with an urologist who once gave me that advice
DeleteNigella. Just tell Dave to think of who her dad is if any stirrings below the belt and no erection conundrum.
ReplyDeleteHe will be well behaved
DeleteHow wonderful to be able to gather for Christmas again. Will you take photos at Comic Con? I've never been, but I'm sure it's something I'd enjoy.
ReplyDeleteIs the pope catholic ? Of course
DeleteGlad your going for some entertainment with a good friend, going to have a day off and gonna have that family gathering. Life is good!
ReplyDeleteIt’s better than it was x
DeleteThat sounds great fun John-I love Nigella-and could you just do a nod to a Superhero such as a capelet x
ReplyDeleteHummm
DeleteTake care, in work and especially back in London. These flare-ups seem to happen after an outing.
ReplyDeleteI will x I will be mask wearing x
DeleteSixteen? Christ! You will be lucky if you get a morsel of turkey and one tiny pig in a blanket.
ReplyDeleteI’ll be happy at pizza
DeleteHe could use it to help stir the pudding.
ReplyDeleteNow there’s a thought
DeleteSo, all it takes for Gorgeous Dave to NOT get an erection is to be warned by you? What power you have.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you get to enjoy Christmas with the family.
Me too deArheart x
DeleteI am looking forward to getting back to work myself (another four to six weeks apparently). Sounds like Christmas day will be a grand occasion, daughter and son in law coming to ours this year (I'm struggling with this amount of people in our abode!).
ReplyDeleteI am afraid that I totally understand Gorgeous Dave's nether region reaction regard Nigella....
hope the antibiotics do their job
Hello john, it would be lovely to meet up again x
DeleteTake it easy back at work ... is that even possible!! I hope it goes well. I am totally jealous of you going to an evening with Nigella Lawson, I will have to make do with some of her old Christmas cooking shows on Food Network tv.
ReplyDeleteSixteen for Christmas lunch, now that will be absolutely brilliant. I would love a huge family Christmas, but as long as I have someone on the other end of my cracker I will be happy :-)
Have a look online I think her one woman show can be diwloaded
DeleteLOL. As a comic geek, I assure you, "red superhero" does not narrow it down any. I hope you will take lots of pics at the con and share them. Even if it's not your "thing," it should eb quite visually entertaining.

ReplyDeleteYou should dress up in spandex and a cape!
ReplyDeleteAt home! ?
DeleteYou will have fun at Comic Con
ReplyDelete"A red superhero" -- the Flash? He'll have to educate you. Then tell the rest of us. And show us a photo!
ReplyDeleteYes the flash xxx
DeleteAt Comic Con sometimes they let children in free who are wearing costumes. Might be worth while checking out.
ReplyDeleteLeo is 18
DeleteComic Con will be fun and there will be lots of people dressed in costumes. You could go as Russell Crowe! :) xx
ReplyDeleteIn his sad years
DeleteYou are going to love Comic Con!
ReplyDeleteIt will be a first
DeleteLOL -- I hope you get a photo of the superhero!
ReplyDeleteI will for sure
DeleteHope your shift is an easy one and that you can take your antibiotics on time as well as stay hydrated.
ReplyDeleteWonderful plans for later in the week and am glad you'll brave ComicCon with your own superhero! What fun!
I'm elated you'll be with the family for Christmas Day, too. Comfort and joy at its finest.
Hugs!
I think I will be quite emotional when I see Leo, s for so many reasons
DeleteIt's good to hear you are feeling well enough to go to work. 16 family members gathering for Christmas sounds wonderful. It should be good fun at Comic Con with your favorite nephew in full costume.
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to see him, it’s been over three years
DeleteYou are going to Comic Con and NOT dressing up? What a pity!
ReplyDeleteLol x
DeleteWe have been to Comic Con several times and had a blast each time. Do be prepared for a crowd. We enjoyed the panels where various stars talked about their roles. You could dress as someone from The Walking Dead!
ReplyDeleteI would have ticked another thing of my bucket list, if I see anyone from the Walking Dead , I’ll wet myself
DeleteComic Con. Go as Superman and wear your Y-fronts on the outside of your tracksuit bottoms. No one will notice...
ReplyDeleteI’ve done that before
DeleteHow lovely to have a family Christmas - it's been 3 years for me ☹️. But I'll be seeing my brother's this coming year😁. Enjoy Nigella!
ReplyDeleteI think she’s going to be a blast
DeleteOh, that Nigella! She's scrummy!
ReplyDeleteThe Comic Con sounds like good fun. Be sure and wear your mask - I'm sure it will be crowded.
A big family Christmas, that sounds wonderful. It's been years...
Yes I will be wearing my mask xx
DeleteI’ve bought a walking dead mask
DeleteIt will all be fun.
ReplyDeleteIt will x
DeleteGlad your feeling better and able to go back to work, although that bucket of coffee is eye catching I can't help but focus on the sad faces of the dogs they know your of to work again.
ReplyDeleteThey weren’t happy
DeleteThat bulldog always manages to get in every shot - this time sitting in the best chair. Glad you are on the mend. Don't overdo it.
ReplyDeleteYou can see Mary next to her x
DeleteMy husband and I took our teenaged daughter years ago to an Anime convention and believe me we were on a learning curve as well!
