Chumaki

I’m back on nights tonight.
And so I wanted to plan something interesting to do today.
Weigh in , takes 2 minutes ( I’ve lost over 32 lbs!!!!!)
Pony sniffing only lasts for ten minutes or so.
Dog walking another hour.
And I’ve finished a couple of chapters of Miriam Margolyes’ autobiography This Much Is True lying in bed with a bulldog chipping away at my last remaining kneecap psoriasis scab

I contemplated watching the new James Bond but the tickets are selling so fast I didn’t fancy dealing with a full cinema.
And so I decided to tick another small wish off my bucket list

I made sushi from scratch.

I chose to make two types of  Chumaki sushi rolls
Ones filled with salmon, wasabi and garlic and the others filled with strips of avocado dipped in lemon, cream cheese and onion.

Preparing the ingredients was therapy in itself.
Cutting the  avocado and salmon into strips , washing the rice free of excess starch it all slows you down quite nicely
And the results, rather surprisingly were rather pleasing

    1. I now eat just twice a day Jennifer
Bread only at breakfast with eggs

Tea time is usually a stir fry with chicken or seafood

      Limited dairy as in milk

I have another 2 stone at least to shift as most of my 59 year old fat is located around my abdomen

    2. The only diet advice anyone needs is "Eat Less". The array of different books converting those two words into sixty thousand amazes me.

    2. Well, they'd be wrong. You nourish your body and soul, most of the time. After all, we're all human and the odd lapse (I'm thinking Scotch eggs/ full English here. Wot! No Welsh cakes or Irish stew to cover the whole of the UK?) is acceptable! xx

    3. Yes, the problem with overly sticky diets , are that when you finally lapse , you lapse totally..
Now little treats need to be balanced.

I read a bit of eBook today, a murder spy novel set in England and Germany during the Cold War years. I then went back to more interesting tablet to see was Bruno was doing to Sven and a drainage expert clearing an overflowing sewerage pipe full of... Such is lockdown life.

  12. 32 pounds is an accomplishment! Congratulations. And the sushi looks superb...did you ever think that anyone in the UK, home of boiled beef and chip butties, would be making such at home? That would have been unthinkable in my youth. You and the world have come a long way.

Well done on the weight loss and your bold and tasty adventures in sushi making! That meal looks professional even before the sushi making kit arrives.
I've taken care to lose weight very slowly as I don't want to look like The Saggy Baggy Elephant (children's book title).
Will you take Marian to work with you to enjoy in the quiet hours (I can hope!).

    Hugs!
