A Meatball under the freezer

The heavens opened this morning on North Wales and the many dog walkers on the Dyserth/ Meliden walkway were found sheltering in small polite groups under the old railway bridges that intersect it at regular intervals.
The rain was torrential.
And rather threatening.

Dorothy loves walking, so ignores the weather.
Mary hates wet conditions so shivering pitiably, refused to walk a step further.

We hurried  home and Dorothy only stopped sulking that her walk was cut short after she found a errant Swedish meatball under the fridge freezer

Off to see James Bond later

This afternoon I’m lagging the thermal store tank
I’m one crazy bitch

  1. Clearly a few more errant Swedish meatballs might keep Dorothy's spirits up!

  2. How old was that meatball? I hope that Dorothy doesn't get a bad dose of IKEA. (Involuntary Kinetic Explosion from Arsehole)

    1. It wouldn’t be old, it would have been located much earlier

  3. Your post title reminded me of the Alan Bennet monologue, with Thora Hird - "A cream cracker under the settee." Maybe you could offer the idea to Alan? xx

  4. Saw Bond last week....not usually my kind of film but a friend took me for a birthday treat..it was very enjoyable in a sort of 'no story/lots of action/bit of Sunday afternoon nonsense' way. x

Thank you, Ellen, for asking the question about what was being done to that tank and thank you, John, for the explanation.
The heavens have opened here, too, and I'm sitting in a puddle of lamplight with a book and a mug of coffee. Bliss.
Enjoy Mr. Bond and the rest of your day off!

    Hugs!

  8. Torrential rain is no fun. Dorothy surprises me again, liking the rain seems unusual. It's cold, cloudy and damp here too after a 3-day northeaster with rain and high winds. Warm cloths and waterproof jackets are the order of the day. Enjoy Bond.

  9. "Lagging the thermal store tank"? I'm not even sure what that means. I did hear that Wales got a heck of a lot of rain, though.

  10. Elsie doesn't like the rain. I say that Welshies are earth dogs not water dogs.
    Give James my love. x

  11. Thanks for the translation for Ellen... and the comment from Steve that sent me to it. Dorothy is a great housekeeper. Who knows how long that meatball might have remained otherwise?

  13. Food keeps slopping down the side of the cooker into a space that I try to ignore-My dogs will walk in the rain but now its rainy here they don't want to play or dig outside-they know it's raining without looking-I need help cleaning this pigsty before the chimney sweep visits next week-my Queenie always helped me around the house-but he may refuse to enter and I need to light the fire soon-there is small woodshed recently erected and waiting x

  16. “This afternoon I’m lagging the thermal store tank.” I understand every one of those words, but I had no idea what you’re talking about! I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. A sad week in our family, the gorgeous, loving, 12 yr old Goldie had to be put down, after a dramatic decline in her health. I only mention it because my son and DIL, whose dog she was, reported an incredible mess under the dining room table! Their vacuum cleaner wasn’t there!
    Enjoy the Bond romp.

  20. No idea why but when clicking on the comment for the previous post it won't let me access the comment's section. It doesn't "highlight" the comments access. Never happened to me before and I am not sure it is something you can help but thought you should know... as I love to read your comments section.
