A National Treasure

Miriam was interviewed by the delightful and insanely attractive Simon Callow and to be honest she started off in a rather subdued and for her persona of chat tv shocker , incredibly subdued way
But when the audience fired questions at her, she blossomed into a warm, self reflective, certainly strident   and intelligent character who , loved celebrated and adored her epithet of national treasure
A lovely evening
Her autobiography This Much Is True was released yesterday

  1. I love people who have grabbed onto life and lived it on their own terms. She looks like a very joyous character.

I remember a film with Callow skinny dipping at a pond. I was most impressed.

Miriam is just fabulous, and we are pleased to have her as one of our own too.

Yes, I thought she had taken Australian citizenship too. Thanks for confirming that Andrew.

  8. I did not know her until I read about her here and searched for her on YouTube. In one of the interviews with her she expressed dissatisfaction with her body and it surprised me because earlier I thought how wonderful she loves herself as she is. As always under extreme joy of life there is a very great sadness.

  10. I always thought that her vulgarity made her popular. I have watched her a few times on TV but have never really warmed to her. I may give her autobiography a look at one day and perhaps my opinion of her will change.

  11. She does make me laugh but, when I saw her on The Real Marigold Hotel, I realised I wouldn’t be able to be in her company for too long …. I think I would find her difficult !!! But then, that’s never going to happen so she can keep making me laugh on Graham Norton etc. XXXX
