The hospice garden is gorgeous, someone (or several someones) have taken time to make it a lovely place. Seeing the hospice reminds me...when are you 'getting the goat'?? x
Agapanthus must love our climate here in Southern California because you can barely find a yard without a few. They are not my favorite but I love purple so they still give me a delight when I spy one or two or 15 in a front yard.
One of my favorite parts of the Harry Potter series (which I ended up reading with my kids quite a few times) was when Albus Dumbledore pays an unexpected and very unwanted visit to the Dursleys (Harry horrible relatives):
"It is a long time since my last visit. ...I must say, your agapanthus are flourishing." -- Albus Dumbledore to Vernon Dursley Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
It delighted my kids that he used kindness to silence stupidity.
Lovely! It is so nice when the grounds of a medical facility are kept nice with lots of colorful flowers to lift the spirits of the visitors and patients and workers.
My favourite plant! They’re treated as a weed here because they spread (i.e. they do well!) and you can only buy infertile ones in garden centres, but I DON’T CARE, I LOVE THEM.
My mum gave me a seedling from her garden and said the colour would be a surprise as she has all colours. It's turned out to be white and is beautiful.
When I was 7 years old a little piglet spent a week escaping from his garden to trot around the street, to come to our garden and munch on our blue agapanthas.
i bet the bees love those.
ReplyDeleteStunning, I have them around my garden, I split them every couple of years.

ReplyDeleteBlue is a spiritual colour and without us seeing those Agapanthus may be helping to waft spirits into the Universe x
