Middle Class & Homosexual

One of Wathen’s massive paintings

I treated myself to an art gallery day today.
Richard Wathen’s New Eyes Every Time at The Mostyn Gallery
Salad in the cafe, shopping in the atrium
I know the girl on the door and she asked me what I was doing today
“ I’m being all middle class and homosexual today!” I told her
“ Spend wisely “ she laughed
In the end I treated myself to two things . A driftwood bird with nail legs by Rachel Sumner and a fox platter by Jenny Murray. I have other bits by both artists.

Thank you Andrew and Rachel
And to Fleetwood Mac of course

I was in the audience for this one

Fabulous

  2. I like Wathen's painting. I am glad you had a good day and I also like the driftwood bird. As for me helping you, it is sometimes easier to see things from afar than when you are standing on top of them. xx

    1. Indeed.....
The bird has an energy I like ....the fox platter was an impulse buy but it livens a darker corner of the kitchen

  6. Catching up with your last post - well done 8lb ! That’s excellent- and jolly hard work! I love, love, LOVE the Rachel Sumner bird - it’s perfect where you’ve hung it! I’m glad you had a happy time at the gallery - but why didn’t you ask for your coffee to come in a proper cup? Glasses of coffee drive me mad, and all too often I spill them.

  13. Almost anyone can call themselves middle class these days. Almost everyone can call themselves homosexual too, but I prefer not to. It would take too long to explain. Just take my word for it.

  15. Thank you for Fleetwood Mac with Neil Finn - I recognised his voice before I had even "embiggened" the clip to see the band. Glad you got to go to their concert in 2019. With care, Michelle in Wellington, NZ

What a wonderful day!! Love your fox platter and your new, whimsical bird. It seems to me you have room for more art at the top of your art wall, if you pay attention to the sizes and shapes ...
I saw Fleetwood Mac long ago, too.

    Hugs!

  28. I feel like purchasing a few new items for the condo. It feels like it is getting stale. I will have to remove some of the old stuff though, I don't want to get cluttered. Just more stuff Maxwell will need to get rid of when I am gone :).
