I’ve always liked being a twin
Synchronicity with each other is something that has followed us all of our lives.
I messaged my sister to see what she wanted for her birthday.
I sent her my very short list which had only one item on it at the same time
On both lists we wrote
Red geraniums in pots
Lovely! You could add, 'and lunch out, with you, somewhere nice...'
ReplyDeleteThat would be lovely too x
DeleteI share your birthday and I too would love geraniums in a terra cotta pot. Happy Birthday John.

DeleteYou are lucky to have a twin sister. Most of us are born alone and in a way we feel that truth all of our lives but you have always got Janet.
ReplyDeleteReally even when you have been married for so long
DeleteLovely, there's something very special about twin synchronicity. ❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteThere is someone “ always there”
DeleteThere is something so very pleasing about red geraniums in a pot. One of my favourites too.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to be a twin, but by the time I realized it, it was several years too late for anything to be done about it :) You are lucky.
I was and am indeed
DeleteI completely believe this.
ReplyDeletePlease do ,,years ago I went to a junk shop and bought three items , all three items were sold to the shop by my sister
DeleteGreat minds think alike!
ReplyDeleteSee above
DeleteThe continuous bloom of geraniums make them an all time favorite. Nice B-day choice. Great minds think alike. Happy day to you both.
ReplyDeleteI hope so x
DeleteHappy birthday ... to both of you!
ReplyDeleteNot till 1st June but thank u xx
DeleteI love them John. I’ve got many pots of red geraniums in my garden. They are easy to care for and they are always in bloom here in Western Australia.
ReplyDeleteNot the best to keep them in wales if the weather is very cold and damp but they do look lovely
DeleteLucky you and lucky Janet to have this special connection with each other. Also, of course, great minds think alike!
ReplyDeleteLove the geraniums, too.
Hugs!
Happy birthday to both of you. May the year coming make amends for the one just past.
ReplyDeleteAmen
DeleteSynchronicity indeed. I hope you've both got something special planned for the day, preferably with each other. xx
ReplyDeleteNo, unfortunately I am working nights before and during my birthday but I will call down to her house with her gifts before work
DeleteWhat a wonderful thing to synchronise on, bright, cheerful, down to earth, seemingly ordinary but also timeless and extraordinary. So the perfect choice for the two of you.
ReplyDeleteI was born a twin, but due to our very premature birth lost my sister at a day old, the usual underdeveloped lungs thing. There is a constant dark shadow behind my right shoulder. Lone twins are a popular subject for study. To be avoided like the plague!
I trust your delight in your twinness only deepens through the years. And how lovely is that? Truly blessed.
I am never truly alone
DeleteMagical. Are you similar in temperament and personality or very different? All the twins I’ve known have been polar opposites, but still in synch in many ways.
ReplyDeleteWe are very different.
DeleteShe is quieter and less confident than her gob shite brother
I love geraniums. An elderly aunt used to grow them in a scullery, lovingly topping up the pots with damp tea leaves. I've never forgotten the smell.
ReplyDeleteI love the way the Spanish use red geraniums
DeleteThat is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThey look nice on the kitchen wall
DeleteA good choice!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday for the 1st! (Same as my oldest grandson)
The other two (identical twins) seem to be insisting on having different things..I suppose they have so much alike they need to have that!
Yes. Having a sister makes that easier on me
DeleteThat's fun, isn't it. My sister is 6 years younger than I, but we know each others' minds.
ReplyDeleteNature or nurture ?
DeleteInteresting question. I think nature. I come from a very broken family. It is just my sister and I. I'd lived away for many years, but after 20 years away, I really got to know her. We are very alike. I don't see it, but people say we have the same mannerisms as well.
DeletePretty,
ReplyDeleteDoes sister like Scotch Eggs, or is that (one of) your own peculiarities?
ReplyDeleteShe wouldn’t break a nail picking one up
DeleteWhereas I’d break your neck if you reached for mine
My sister-in-law, June, had quite a story. She was born knowing that her mother married and then quickly was divorced - then married again. June had a step sister and brother. Growing up her steps teased her that they knew who her father was. Finally just before her mother died she asked her and was given the name. Her mother had been visiting for the summer in California and became friendly with a young man at the skating rink. Returned home to the mid-west pregnant. The young man never knew. She was also told she had a twin brother that died at birth. Years later she realized that a couple in the extended family had been childless and then suddenly had a little boy - about her age. In fact they visited from time to time and played together. Because of information about the young man a relative helped her locate him or rather his two daughters and they said he would have been very welcoming of her if he had known before he died. The twin died several years ago but he had children. I don't know that June ever got around to contacting them to have DNA tests done. June died a few years ago at 93. No wonder she always loved "family" getting together for holidays. Just imagine not having half of your family for all those years.
ReplyDeleteSerendipity , kismet
DeleteWonderful x
I didn't know you were a twin John. Interesting story.
ReplyDeleteJanet and john weave x
DeleteI wondered if you were both or either psychic John x
ReplyDeleteNo just twins
DeleteI have a twin brother, and we often synchronise on thoughts and getting in touch with each other. It's lovely!
ReplyDeleteMorag
PS I'm 10 minutes younger than him and was the unexpected bonus!
Welcome groatie
DeleteYes Janet and I often say the same thing at the same time

ReplyDeleteI have identical twin nephews that I could never tell apart. Even now, I only know which is which when they are standing with their wives!
