Fancy A Chat?

Hello,
Let’s have a chat.
I’ve been out for a long walk hoping for a chat but strange as it may seem, I didn’t bump into anyone I knew.
The walk was so long that half way through Dorothy had a mini gay-man’s flounce and sat miserably  at the back door of a parked car in the blind hope that it was Bluebell.
She’s only just forgiven me now, and that was after the fact I let her lick the eggy bits from my Brunch plate.
Yes people as part of my diet I only have Brunch and Dinner now and alongside a reduction of alcohol and eating crap after 6 pm at night. It seems to be working
Well....I had to do something , my underwear drawer needed a mercy killing initiative.
Stretched to buggery and with too many holes.
Thank god for Amazon.
As Mrs Doubtfire  would say

So in these final moments of lockdown I am polishing those tarnished bits of me, I missed when pulling up my bra straps over the last year. Something, I think we all do, when there is a whiff of spring in the air and the weak sun, warms your bones when out with the dogs.

Takes a long sip of coffee from my trusty bucket

I’m feeling happy today. Happy with my new resolve. I’ve started to read the 20 books collected and stacked on my new ( ultra trendy John Lewis) side table and I’ve started the first of my on line courses which remind me I still have a brain and the capacity to debate.

............phone rings ...I answer

I’ve returned after a long phonecall from Nu which was as invigorating as an icy plunge in the sea. We haven’t physically met for a year and we are now making tentative plans what we will do when we can...more adventures afoot more laughter ahead.

Blogland has settled down too, with less troll activity spoiling the chatter and it’s nice to feel more kindness and less game playing around........oh and as I’m talking about blogs .....
Go visit Libby at
https://libbysaidok.blogspot.com/ her new blog needs a few virtual hugs of welcome

I’ve just video called my friend John in Sheffield. We discuss Hitchcock at length, it’s one of those conversations we used to have over too much red wine in All Bar One.
I miss him

Time for a coffee refill
Bloody hell it’s 2pm ....I’m working the next three days so I have jobs to do.
Operation dog snot removal, more sooty cobwebs  to scoop up, ones I missed last week.
I’m glad We’ve had this chat.
I will leave you with a photo of the primroses I planted by the front door.
They are optimistic and cheerful and mirror my mood
Enjoy them

Amazing what a bit of sunshine, some cheerful flowers and refreshing chats with friends can do to recharge the batteries and chase the blues away. Shoulders back, deep breathe and a smile.....you are passing your gossip and brighter spirits on to us all And now for spring! Soon! Ish! Have a good weekend pet.

  3. Lovely chat, thanks John. You really cheered me up with spring flowers and talk of the final moments of lockdown. I really needed it after my morning walk when someone told me that fellow dog-walker Graham, and his wife, both died from Covid last week...I hope there is someone to look after their little black dog, Lexi. Sadly I don't know where they lived, so can't check up on her. On another tack, I also replaced my sadly sagging and holey knickers after Christmas, and decided to go for quality, which hopefully will last. £50 for 12 pairs! they'd better be good!

  6. Great chat John. My 'Bridget Jones' knickers need replacing, they seem to have stretched too!!!! Like your idea of brunch and dinner, lockdown = eating more in our house.

I have just finished the two novels about an American serial killer my SIL gave me. Need something a bit lighter next.

My daughter and dog called around to walk with her daughter and dog (who live here) so had a very quick chat and she kindly dropped me off a bag of ironing as she has 4 house viewing tomorrow. Her dog does not understand social distancing, he wanted a cuddle. He missed his 'brother from another Mother', so was happy to walk with his oppo.

Love the spring flowers, you have a lovely cottage garden. Great to see lighter nights. Spring hopefully heralds better news on the lockdown front.

  7. I enjoyed our chat, John. Just what the doctor ordered! It won't be too long (God willing) before we can meet up with others for a coffee and a chat, sans masks/sanitiser/social distancing. Oh, Happy Day! xx

What a delightful chat and am so very pleased you're feeling on top of the world! Ta for spreading the cheer. :)
Great plans to better your physique but don't skimp on good nutrition for those long work hours. My sweet MIL said to lose weight, "eat a little less, move a little more and gradually it goes". I'm doing that, too.
    Your primroses are lovely.

    Hugs!

  10. It's so amazing how suddenly one can find oneself, for no apparent reason, in just a better mood. Sunnier, lighter, more optimistic, more content.
It's a gift from the universe that I never forget to give thanks for.

  13. I've been looking for primroses in the grocery store but had to settle for a pretty daffodil, iris and hyacinth bouquet instead but I'll keep looking. We're still in lockdown but kiddies go back to school on the 15th. Off to make scalloped potatoes for dinner. Hugs, Elaine

I admire your tenacity and resolve to start over, to keep trying, to *care* , in these dismal days of covid. (Won't it be hard to adjust your meal schedule with your odd shifts and nights?)

  22. Got a text this morning, asking me to book my first Covid jab. Managed to get a slot for this Sunday lunchtime, so Howard can drop me at the surgery in the works van he's borrowing for the weekend. I'd looked at the pages where you could work out when you were likely to be called in, & I must come under extremely vulnerable, even tough I don't really tick all the boxes unless they still class my asthma as severe. Though the 12 week time lag will take me to late April/early May for the 2nd jab, which was more or less expecting to be seen for the first one. So liberty, if not freedom, is on the horizon. Hopefully Howard will get the call soon too, as his job requires him to deliver prescriptions & sometimes food parcels to the vulnerable housebound (aside of me), & it would make sense for him to be covered.

  24. I've done nothing apart from walk and talk today.Met several dog walkers trudging through the mud which earlier was quite pleasant as the sun was shining. We spoke dog talk which I can chatter away for ever about. One nice man eventually with his black retriever golden Labrador said apologetically"I must go I have a meeting in 10 minutes".Back at the dog house a nice man entered my property with protection-he fitted a nice clean new oven door as unfortunately previous had a crack.Afterwards I chatted to a friend for 2 hours until my phone lost its charge x

  33. Hubby got the call for his jab, nothing for me. Rang the surgery and they said 'Come along together'. All sorted. Sis's hubby got the call, but nothing for her. She rang the surgery and was told she was not vulnerable despite recovering from a mastectomy! GP said 'If I do it for you, I have to do it for everyone!'. WOW. 😘

  34. Ah, the underwear drawer. I need to go through my knickers. I have sensible cotton ones to wear under my uniform and my weekend knickers for my time. I may need to go to the "i wear nice underwear under my scrubs" school of thought that my younger coworkers have.

My husband made the mistake of asking what I talk about with coworkers. Nothing intellectual, we spent the better part of a shift on the subject of knickers.

It's been a crapfest start to a new year. My cousin's husband died, my brother has cancer, my Covid shot was cancelled due to our government being at the mercy of other nations production schedules.

It will get better, it has to.

  37. Nice chat, we should do this more often. The sun was out and it warmed up to near 60 degrees F this afternoon, when I left my annual visit to the good doctor, I put the top down on my litte care and took a slow drive. A convertible (cabriolet) and heated seats on a a slightly cool but sunny day, are heaven, the Doc told me to find ways to relax more.

  38. Very nice to chat. With each day, Spring feels nearer and now it is still light at 5 PM. Spring inspires an in-with-the-new and out-with-the-old energy. I find Spring inspirational and the energy propels each of us in to action. You describe lots of great actions. Also, your primroses look beautiful at your front door. My garden started to show early Spring time life and then we got snow, 15 inches with more predicted for Sunday! We know there is life beneath the blanket of snow and all will be good in time. We are a hearty bunch Hold that thought.
