I found this video
Mary is now the only survivor
Bittersweet to watch again
I’m working three long day shifts together so up at 5.30 making soup in the slow cooker for my supper. My “ big gay team” got fourth last night which was bloody great, not bad cos we are up to 90 participants from all over the world......mave was in my group, suffice to say the conversation was rather .....ribald
90 gay men from all over the world? Oooh John there must have been some gorgeous fellas there......who knows, once we are on the other side of travel restrictions, you may be travelling again! Nothing wrong with a bit of 'language' unless it's mean and hurtful....and well done you for getting up and preparing supper for later...left to me it would be microwaved popcorn while I stand in the kitchen..xx
What a lovely video of your dogs, and how well behaved they all were, waiting patiently for their treat. Glad you had a fun time at the quiz. Fourth isn't bad, but I'm guessing it's not too much about winning anyway! xx
That is still a lovely video of the dogs, but if it was sound only you would still know which was Winnie's meatball!
Fourth is pretty good goung. Next time aim for third place and the chocolate medal! Take care, stay safe, and warm, and all hopes you don't get snowed in by the latest 'beast from the east' thickening week.
Cute-and George's little walk is so sweet.Perhaps I should get some Swedish meatballs because at the moment even though they have been walking for over 1 and a half hours they are a bit naughty still-one humping my thatch and He is shredding newspaper and my lovely lily is having none of it and neither is teddy bear.I wondered if your lovely self John and Mavis spotted a Hunk last night xx
Love the video and your sweet family with their hopeful expressions. I'll say again that your voice is lovely. Well done to have gotten 4th place! When working 12 hour shifts, easy posts aren't lazy, they're all you have the energy to do because long shifts are tiring and you have long commutes on each end of those shifts. Safe journeys!
How nice that you had a bit of social. And congrats of fourth. Take care at work. And loved the video. Seeing friends, no longer with us... it is bittersweet. Cherish.
It was lovely to revisit this video John perhaps it's not nice to have favourites but I love the Terriers, grew up with a Lakeland and Wirehaired Terrier and an English Cocker but of course they were treated all the same. Good coming 4th at the Quiz must have been a lot of fun seeing so many people from all over.

I enjoy looking at videos of my old dogs; I like to think they were all happy with their lot.

ReplyDeleteA video of treasured memories. How they've left their footprints on your and everybody else's lives!
ReplyDeleteWell done for your 4th place among so much international competition. We'll see you on 'Mastermind' yet. [Specialist subject - Scotch eggs?]
Deep, resonant voice you have there. Reminds me of Captain Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 4th place. I still think you should have snuck a secret meatball to George before you called the others. To hell with the pecking order. x
ReplyDeleteI almost wanted a dog for a split second, then!
ReplyDeleteAmazingly well trained. I guess it's the meatball effect.
Utter delight tinged with sadness.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to see the old pack again.
ReplyDeleteYou must be ever so clever to come 4th.
ReplyDeleteSarky
DeleteI actually thought it was a truly good place to come 4th out of so many people.

Nice doggy video. Congratulations! What are the odds of you and Mave on the same team? Indeed, great minds and all that..
ReplyDeleteMeatballs, or other tasty foods, work on some husbands as well,
ReplyDeletegood old dogs.
ReplyDeleteToo bad your Big Gay Quiz isn't video'ed and available for watching. It might be just what the world needs right now.

ReplyDeleteI was too busy trawling for my brain cell to bother with prowling for the next Mr Mavis.
DeleteThat's the best way to find someone...when you're not looking!
DeleteCute. I like how they all stand there after you've given them one -- like, "Where's my second meatball?"
ReplyDeleteGay trivia sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteMakes me ponder self-identifying as gay just for a day to enjoy the ribaldry... (but I would surely soon be found out and kicked out).
ReplyDeleteLove the video and your sweet family with their hopeful expressions. I'll say again that your voice is lovely.

ReplyDeleteLove hearing you. Seeing the pack. You have given so much love to so many.
ReplyDeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteI remember this one. Everyone looks wonderful and of course I love George.
ReplyDeleteWow, fourth in the pub quiz, that is fabulous.
Lovely.
Well done on 4th place. Lovely to see all the dogs together (Mary sitting so sweetly)- sad but happy memories.
ReplyDeleteSweet babies!! Yes John, there are meatballs in heaven!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your great finish in the quiz! I remember when you first showed us that video. I loved it then and I love it even more now. Hugs.
