much better than ours in the village, it has about six lightbulbs this year .... there were quite a few complaints (unsurprisingly) and the parish council promised to fix it - by switching them off!!
That is a lovely peaceful Christmas tree John. You never guess who I saw today as we were driving home from doggy walk?-Father Christmas!-I couldn't believe it-he was just approaching the roundabout and so I saw him most clearly-he was driving a white car and had the most beautiful full white beard x
Looks lovely, it's great when someone makes the effort to make the village festive. We have a tree up in our little town, looks great but no lights unfortunately. However; considering I have never seen an official tree here before, it's a start.
Walking the dog, I see folks have put up their trees... they've decorated the outside of their houses... it's a sign of life. A little happiness. We all need it... but especially these days.
Very pretty. Seems like more people have lights outside this Christmas. Maybe to try to brighten things up? Anyway, today Santa rode thru our town in a firetruck. An annual tradition.
That tree looks simple and very beautiful. It's strange how being alone whether walking or driving and seeing all the lights at this time of year twinkling in the night is very melancholic. I sometimes feel right on the edge of tears, it would only taker a little nudge ....
People here have been putting up their Christmas trees and decorations very early, I guess to create a bit of a festive feeling in the midst of the virus gloom.
ReplyDeleteHi John, wishing you Happy Holidays!
We put our tree up early and have it lit up even in the daytime. Comforting somehow. Be safe, John
Thanks for that photo. Seeing it at night was surely a pleasant surprise. A light in the darkness.
ReplyDeletewonderful! small towns here do the same thing.
ReplyDeleteOur village tree is up as well. Nice to see a sign of normality. Sadly not Christmas party or Santa’s grotto this year

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tree, festive, and just right to cheer the residents of Trelawnyd as well as those who pass through.
ReplyDeleteTa for sharing the tree with us!
Hugs!

DeleteIt's a beaut! Happy holidays John. May they be as full as possible in these strange times.
ReplyDeleteSo nice...it is the small spots of joy that knit a holiday season together.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a bit of the old days.
ReplyDeleteThose lights are a cold transcendent beauty.
ReplyDeleteNothing as nostalgic and calming of a Christmas tree. The picture brought a few happy tears.
ReplyDeleteThis was a lovely little picture into a sweetness thousands of miles away from me, and it brightened my day. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteAnd it's also waving 2 fingers to Covid...we will still celebrate...we will not be beaten by you.
ReplyDeleteCharming. Since our plaza in under renovation it looks like we won't have our neighbourhood Christmas tree this year.
ReplyDeleteModestly understated brings as much, or more, magical Xmas spirit as some grossly overdone spectacles.
