You started my Christmas season with this version of Carol of the Bells. Amazing voices singing my favourite Christmas Carol. Thank you from a rather green and warmish Montreal.
I've always liked our Julie - and used to be mercilessly mocked by both friends and work colleagues for doing so. Looking back in historical terms she was like a comet that shone brilliantly and all too briefly in the mid-60s then her film career was somewhat stymied by her trying too desperately trying to shake off the 'Maria' image, even going so far as to bear her boobs in that best-forgotten 1981 farrago of a film 'S.O.B'. Then came, of course, the catastrophe her throat condition. In Amsterdam once, staying at the same hotel as I was, was a Hollywood dresser, so camp you'd be forgiven for thinking he was taking the piss. He'd worked with [he said] most of the big names of the time - and dismissed Julie A. as "that BITCH!" When pressed to say more he clammed up. I can only assume that he'd got into an argument with her and wouldn't suurrender the grudge.
