First Son Of Trelawnyd

The books I’m about to read are being stacked against the foot of my new Sofa in readiness of my days off.
I am yet to claim the sofa as my own as yet
Quelle surprise!

I note from the village what’s app site that Trelawnyd’s son  poet and author Emyr Humphreys has died at the age of 101 in his Anglesey home.
Humphreys was brought up in Trelawnyd and many characters and situations described in his books were taken directly from his upbringing in the streets I know well
On the recommendation of Pippa in the rectory I have just bought his most famous novel A Toy Epic written in 1958
No doubt that will be placed on the pile for when the sofa finally becomes free!

I’m washed out today

  2. They know. I put a new cushion outside and Agatha was the first one to use it.
    Feel better.

  3. If you are waiting for those two to vacate the sofa all I can says is pigs might fly - you spoil them rotten and they think you bought it solely for them. (didn't you?_)

  4. My goodness, your sofa looks like my bed. When you're at work do you ever just think of how nice it would be to be home snuggling with you fur kids? It gets me through the day sometimes. Take care and enjoy you days off.

I wondered how you'd claim a space on the new sofa when your furry family has first dibs! Perchance you need a large footstool in front of your sitting room chair that would double as a place for you to relax with your feet up and read as well as being a lure for a dog or dogs to be in that place so you could have couch space. Yes?
May Trelawnyd's first son, Emyr, rest in peace.
Enjoy your days off and rest up.

    Hugs!

I'm sorry to hear that you're only scheduled for one day off. One day is never, ever enough to get the rest you need. Hope you have several days off together in your near future.

      Hugs!

  10. We have two couches. 'our couch' is the animal free one. This might work for you, but you'd need three couches, minimally. Just how big IS that living room?

    2. Alas...you will have to learn to be comfortable on a large cushion on the floor. :)

    4. Aw! She's thinking of you. She is taking good care of her beloved pet. Now curl up and rest quietly like a good pet. They've got a stack of books to read.

  11. That sofa is bigger than I first thought if it can accommodate 2 hippos, sorry - Bulldogs, plus a Mary and an Albert. You don't stand a chance unless they all rush off to greet someone at the door. - Rosemary

  12. I am seeing 3 dogs on that couch! You need a space just for you and Albert ... cats take up less space!
Hope the dogs don't gnaw on those books you are looking to read!

  20. £700 is rather a lot for a new dog bed!

  21. A nice big cushion on the floor you could sit on and lean against the occupied couch would be just the thing. They might even learn to like the cushion and trade places with you! I LOVE that picture! Made my day!♥

  22. The fur kids look very happy on their new couch! Will your room allow for a second couch? That would solve the problem and provide you with your very own couch. My Bernese Mountain dog (Caesar) has his own couch in the living room. Just saying...

  23. Now that's a sight for sore eyes...they all look so comfy! Needed to be one cushion bigger for all of you. Never mind, there is always the floor!
