3\4 Rainbow

Three quarter the way through night shifts
And Dorothy has now mastered sleeping with me and Mary during the day in bed without losing control of her bladder.
As you can imagine, it makes for a more peaceful day all round.
She still has to get as close as is bulldog-ly possible in order to watch me sleep and more importantly breath, but after the first half hour of anxiety filled dread, she finally relaxes enough to sleep herself, that is,  after she hears me snore like a pig a sound that presumably reassures her that I haven’t slipped away in my sleep.

The village wardens have all reported in to our leader the Velvet Voiced Linda yesterday evening before I set off for Llandudno which was nice
There was much light hearted discussion about reinstating village stocks after one rather grumpy member of the warden group complained about lights being left on in the village hall but no one had any real news, given the lockdown.
We were all hoping for some sort of social gathering before Christmas....hummm that looks unlikely unless the 30 people outdoor rule changes

My sister Janet visited yesterday afternoon too, but didn’t disturb me as she left a gift in the box by the front door.
A gay rainbow for my window, which was nice.
I’ve been reading about the history of the rainbow flag.
It’s not only the adopted flag of the LGBTQ community ( circa 1970) but also the International peace flag

It’s brightened the cottage on a very blustery and wet weekend.

Hopefully sleeping with you will help Dorothy become more secure and calm. It has helped do that for all my cats and dogs.- Mary

  4. The only one of our animals who came to sleep with me was Freddy our Tabby Cat. I would suddenly wake to find him tucked-up under my chin.

Love the rainbow in your window and how extra kind of Janet (correct sister?) not to awaken you or the dogs when she left her sweet gift.
So glad Dorothy has come to understand she's safe and is home with her family so she can sleep.
We've slept with dogs and I had left knee trouble when in my 20s from one large dog who slept at the bottom of my side of the bed and cats, including kittens who slept under DH's beard when they were small.
One more night shift? Hope all is quiet.

    Hugs!

  7. The rainbow is delightful, it matches your heart rainbow. So very glad to hear that Dorothy has finally got some peace and can sleep soundly without mishaps. So is so very adorable as are all your furry friends. If you are still on nights I hope they go past in a whistle.

  8. Silly me. Reading your title in my blogroll, I expected to see three quarters of a rainbow, as if it were the cover of a Pink Floyd album. Nice to see that it's one hundred percent of a rainbow. Great sister you have.

  9. Dear Dorothy, she pulls at my heart strings. I suggest you listen to The Rainbow Connection, on this side of acceptance of the rainbow community, it is a very different song. and also pulls at the heart strings.

How lovely. Amazing how much the rainbow lifts the heart. Hope now Doroth is finally learning to relax somewhere over her own rainbow!

Where is the I for intersex in LGBTQ? It is actually worse now with more letters added after I. It has become quite silly. Sorry to hear you are to be restricted again, as we in a couple of weeks should be freed up considerably.

  15. "Rainbow" was also a children's TV programme. One of the characters was Bungle - a brown furry bear with a squashed face, who was inquisitive but also clumsy.

  16. Rainbow flags have been flying in German windows for decades now, and I always thought that they were to do with peace. Skinheads stole white socks from Gays, Gays stole the peace flag from the Germans and hi-jacked the very word from the older generation. Nobody's bothered.

  17. Everyone should have a sister Janet!

  18. Your rainbow looks lovely, my Mum has a similar one that was bought as a gift to support the NHS, but hers has a long multi-coloured fringe. It really does brighten up the window.

  19. Attachment and contact issues, complicated. It is good to hear Dorothy is doing better. I listen for snoring from time to time, to reassure myself everyone is still here.

  20. Love the rainbow is it crochet?

I thought the rainbow in a rainbow shape was the "supporting the NHS" logo; whereas the flag was the Gay etc...; whereas the one in the sky is just the one in the sky. It is all rather confusing (but fine nonetheless).

  22. When I visited Europe in the early 2000s I was STUNNED to see gay flags everywhere! Only later did I learn they were actually peace flags, protesting George W. Bush's war in Iraq.

  23. I like it that the Rainbow has several guises as people can wonder-a handsome man may cum a calling and then all you need is the Pot of Gold x

  24. Love the rainbow in the window. Very nice of your lovely sister to quietly leave a gift.

Dorothy is reaching new milestones! That's an important one. My ex has a nervous dog (adopted from the shelter) that, whenever T coughs he runs over and gets his face as close as possible to hers, checking to see if she is ok. He is a sweet boy but so needy.
