Day Off

Kristi’s work- next to Colin

Today is my first proper day off
I am back on nights tomorrow
Apart from the necessary jobs , I’m intending to watch Bombshell  the Charlize Therzon, Margo Robbie film on dvd
I’ve made macaroni cheese for supper
It’s my sister in law’s birthday today so I’ve dropped off flowers and cake and a gift
She told me I looked rough
I  do! She was right.

Gifts, whether birthday or otherwise do lighten the heart, I always think and today Kristi sent me one of her paintings which I complemented her on , on her blog. It’s a very welcome addition to my art wall and I’m sending you a big thank you for your kindness.....
( I must add here that I’m wearing another blog reader gift today, a lovely bulldog T shirt from Jackie D it made a welcome change from my now rather robust collection of Walking Dead t shirts)

Trump’s idiocy post Covid has left me speechless
As did his maskless wave to the nation to the avengers theme
Arsehole
I’m not watching the tv news now
The dahlia and rubekkia are blooming their last in the garden and look cheerful
Cheerful is good today

Ps
Bombshell proved to be an inspired choice of dvd purchase
It’s a wonderfully insightful and intelligent study of the sexual harassment of female anchor women from Fox News by the CEO Roger Ailes.
Worth seeing especially for Therzon’s powerhouse performance as anchorwoman Megan Kelly

  2. Your art wall is lovely.

I'm finding work so tiring. We're the same age but I think you work 12 hour shifts. I have a hard time getting through 8 hours. I'm exhausted by the time we get home.

    Sending hugs.

As a YouTube TX preacher said something akin to, "You know the virtues you learned at church, well, I find no virtue in Mr. Trump and you know in your Sunday School hearts that what I say is true."

Please vote, one and all (well those in the States, of course)!

      Hugs!

  10. It's too bad Megan Kelly is such a douche in real life. It prevents me from seeing that film for fear I will want to cheer for her. And how nice that you get art in the mail! Sweet deal. Hope you are relaxing and taking good care of yourself.

  12. The rapidly shortening days have already begun to take their toll on my energy levels; I imagine that being more northerly and soon to be working nights, you will need all the lightness of heart those gifts can bring. A good step for me will also be avoiding the news as much as possible. I have just today marked up my sample ballot, and am ready to cast my vote. Then I suppose I'll hold on and hope for the best!

I have picked apart just why I feel so sad
It’s tiredness coupled with lack of contact related to new Covid rules and night shifts ...
Also during the summer I felt as though I had returned to my friendship groups they now seem a little more distant
      I’m tired

Wishing your SIL a very happy birthday!
Wonderful new art and it was so kind of Kristi to send it to you.
Will have to look for Bombshell as an intelligent movie would be so welcome just now with the idiocy abounding in this formerly great nation.
Enjoy zoom with your friend, a good night's sleep, and a lazy morning before your night shift.

    Big hugs!

  16. Great idea not watching the TV news, which always focuses on negative things. If you have time this excellent 8 minute Youtube video explains why
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQoodyEkzCc
If you also find time to take Mary up Gop Hill (especially when you don't feel like it!) that will help too!
Hope your day off gives you a boost of energy. x

  17. I can’t with Kelly but I love Charlize. I watched the movie cause I love her and Robbie and Kidman. They recreate the blind bimbo Fox News talking head perfectly.
Hair Furor is busy spreading COVID-19 in the White House. Such a moron.
    Love, love the wall art!

  18. Your art wall is fabulous. I have a few favourites amongst them; the birds for one and the photo of your dogs on the beach, but the one that makes me all misty is the "Thank You" prayer. I had forgotten that we used to say this often as children and now I have lost two of my siblings it is even more poignant. I hope you had a restful day and were recharged a bit for your nightshift.

Trump ... well he just makes my blood boil, he is everything that is wrong with the world wrapped up in an orange oompa lumpa costume.

  25. I guess I don't see the Covid thing as a debacle. None of us know all we need to know about it nor do we have all the answers to it. But, we at least have some things that work to help with it, and now know it works because of the president stepping out and up with it.
