Hot

The pace of the holiday has matched the pace of the mini heatwave and slowly I have cleared out my new bike shed and re organised the garden shed which now has neat lines of gleaming garden tools in it as well as a newly buffed up mower.
Not content with the outside sheds, I made a start on some unsorted bedroom cupboards and cleared out a load of shite as well as carrier bags of old books and photographs all of which I have therapeutically thrown into the bin.
I bumped into Mrs Trellis when I was returning Jason's power cleaner and both agreed to attend the photo session of the Street Wardens which looks as though it's happening on Sunday evening
Mrs Trellis is buying a computer soon , so impressed she is with on line shopping.

Trendy Carol ( in a baseball hat inspired ensemble today!!) stopped to chat as the lone cockerel stopped by for his tea as he made his way back to the Churchyard.
I feel for the bird who looks and acts incredibly lonely
I caught him yesterday standing on the Church wall listening to the crowing of a cockerel at the livery stables only 1000 yards away.
So near but so far away.

The bulldogs have spent their day with nipples against cold shady concrete

Thunderstorms are on the way

  1. I hope Mrs. Trellis doesn't slide down the slippery slope of online shopping to her financial ruin!
I feel sad for the poor, lonely cockerel.
Sounds as though you need a day of rest after the massive clear out and clean up.

Awww, so sorry the cockerel is lonesome. I echo Ms. Moon in wishing him some hen friends.

Well done with continuing with your clear-out both inside and in the bike shed. Have you thought of a paint color that appeals to you for your hallway?

It's hot here, too, (approx. 25*C) and we have a 10p thunderstorm likely.

    Hugs!

  8. Hi hun, Yes the heat is unbearable. My hubbie (UK Spanish Gypsey Romany genes from his Mum)goes black with very little sun. Me with freckles, goes pink and ......eventually a golden brown. I tend to retreat indoors - Boo our brown lab/retriever lies in the shade.Luckily, we live near Dedham which has a river so she can have a walk and then cool off. Last year I went through all our old photos and split some up for my twin girlies into albums for them and the rest into our albums and some into the bin.Do you ever look at old photo's and think why on earth did I take that? My hubbie had lots (and lots)of old RAF ones - half of the people in the photo's he couldn't remember anything about them!In his defence he left the RAF after 22 years in 1993.But..into the bin they went!! LOL *hugs* Goldensunflowerx

  10. You could get him a companion, nothing as sad as a lonely cock.

  12. I had two dogs from a rescue a good few years ago. They came as a bonded pair and got on so well.
After a few years the bitch died very suddenly. Oh my God the dog did not take it well at all. He spent days howling for hours at a time. There was no calming him at all.
So I bit the bullet and got another dog, a bitch. He stopped howling after a few days and the rest was history, as they say.
I always have at least two dogs because I think it's easier for them. Not for me but we cope

  15. Could you buy a couple of hens (maybe rescue from battery) to keep him company or is that a road you do not wish to take?

  19. What do you keep shite in your bedroom cupboards for? We usually flush ours down the toilet. I wonder if Mrs Trellis needs someone to join her in a bubble - to get her up and running on the computer. I could stay over.
