What day is it?
Oh thanks Siri .....
It's Tuesday today
Choir meeting later
Only healthy eating for me today
Homemade bread, spicy homemade soup and fruit salad
I saw this lovely snapshot on Hattie's Facebook page yesterday
So my question to you, my readers today is simple
What thing/s makes your day better?
Dogs, cake, friends, sunshine, linen sheets, fresh flowers
ReplyDelete🐕🍰👬☀️🛏💐
DeleteVideo call with grandsons. Enjoying a coffee with hubby in garden in the sunshine, not today too wet, :o((
ReplyDelete💻
DeleteHello! Being able to deliver to customers as of today so we can make a little money safely. Home made baking. Having time to sew, reading Ellie Griffiths books, looking forward to hugging my kids again
ReplyDelete🚛
DeleteSunshine and tea.
ReplyDelete☀️
DeleteHaving my husband at home more. Oh, wait a mo, is that better? I don't know. There's good and there's bad.
ReplyDelete👨🏼
DeleteReading "Going Gently" always makes my day better. It is a wonderful blog maintained by an amazing man.
ReplyDeleteP.S. How do Winnie and Dorothy feel about Hattie's love affair with Mary?
Thank you YP I was moved x
DeleteLooking at videos of our 5 month old grandson.

DeleteVideo calls with my son in Australia and my grandchildren round the corner from us. x
ReplyDelete💻
DeleteBeing outdoors at my rural workshop in the fine weather. I'm lucky.
ReplyDelete🗿
DeleteI've been looking for a use for the Easter Island emoji for ages. You seem to have found one.
DeleteYou have yeast? We have toilet paper once again, but it is only because Americans lack an attention span. We have moved on and now finding bread flour and yeast is impossible. At least bread flour and yeast make more sense, though I couldn't tell you why.
ReplyDeleteI have yeast
DeleteRain today as the garden really needs it. A supply of books to read, Friday night quiz via Facebook Messenger with the family and knowing our children are lucky to all be working from home.
ReplyDelete📔📓📘📗📕📙📚📒
DeleteWorking in the garden.
ReplyDeleteSan Geraldo, Skyping with my friend Susan, kind bloggers... for starters.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I was going to say skyping with my kids/grandkids and my friend Mitchell.
DeleteSusan:
DeleteAnd there you have it! What a pair!
My five minute basic meditation first thing in the morning, seeing my blood pressure slowly going down ... it reached alarming proportions over the weekend. Doggy cuddles, swinging on my birthday swing (even in todays rain) and blog hopping :-)
ReplyDeleteSwinging!? Ooo-On your Birthday?! Oh I say.Did you have cake too? Many Happy Returns x
DeleteWhat makes my day better is simply indulging in all my favourite activities - reading, music, good food, wine, blogging etc. And of course long chats with Jenny about every subject under the sun.
ReplyDeletemy blog friends, my cats, classical music, knitting, books.
ReplyDeleteand that is a lovely pix of hattie & mary!
what makes my day better is that we have gone from level 4 down to level 3, still quite restricted but hopefully only about two weeks of this then somewhere normal, whatever that will be. Only 2 new cases today and both directly linked to known cases. looks like we may be on the home stretch, very thankful that I live on a small Island at the bottom of the world. Love your pups John.
ReplyDeleteWalking among the bluebells is my happy place.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the risk, decent take away coffee out somewhere.
ReplyDeleteOnce I have done my weekly shop and managed to get some variety rather than whatever is left on the shelves.
ReplyDeleteliving in pajamas is a new found joy.
ReplyDeleteMy morning bloggs, taking a mid day break, cooking each day.
ReplyDeleteMy dogs!! Spending so much time with them has been the highlight of my time off. :)
ReplyDeleteStudio, brushes, oil paint.
ReplyDeleteI go out and buy a few of my $6 coffees. Bring them home and pop them into the fridge. Then I have a few days where I can warm one up to sip as I start my work from home day.
ReplyDeleteRain! I love walking the dogs in the rain, plus my garden needs a good drink x
ReplyDeleteBaking, dog walking and seed planting.
ReplyDeleteMy gardens on a sunny day, the energy to work in them, and my new best friend, Zoom, so I can see the wonderful faces of my loved ones.
ReplyDeleteA Ruth Rendell book. I read them over & over. I do miss her.
ReplyDeleteYou make my day better John.
ReplyDeleteContact with family and friends; lap time with my calico cat Cassie; good gluten free bread and home made hummus; the Brew Tea Company's lemon and ginger tea; having a working shower after 4 weeks without bath or shower (bathroom renovation was stalled by lockdown until deemed essential by a trade body); being retired after two totally different careers; a snooze in the afternoon; unfettered time and being responsible only for myself and my furry friend; so much to be thankful for, and despite current restrictions I am content with my quiet happy life.
ReplyDeleteLove that picture of Hattie and Mary, the silhouettes are quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy garden. Planting, and watching things grow. Collecting seeds. Pruning the fruit trees and trying to imagine what the world will be like when the next fruit is ready to be picked.
Starting my day with YOU, walking outside, sending letters to nursing home residents, cooking and baking, and jumping on my mini trampoline - that shakes the cobwebs out for sure! Love the pic of Hattie and Mary.
ReplyDeleteA good walk, a beautiful day, a nice loaf of bread baked, the sight of the made bed, silly, loving texts from my family, watching the juvenile chickens running about the yard, watching the hummingbirds at my feeder, many good hugs from my husband. And so forth.
ReplyDeleteMy garden, a good book, a nice chat with friends.
ReplyDeletemy husband and my daughter because they are both really funny and a good laugh is necessary at the moment, my dogs, my rabbits, music, chocolate, flowers, cake x
ReplyDeleteGarden and gardening. 'Carolina Blue' skies. Blogging. Baking something delicious - and sharing with neighbors. Bob being here with me. Sitting on the front porch with an aperitif in late afternoon sunshine with birds singing in the trees.
ReplyDeleteCoffee!
ReplyDeleteWhen my dog smiles at me.
ReplyDeleteSunshine, coffee, quilting, reading your posts
ReplyDeleteSitting on my back porch in the mornings with my cuppa. The birds, omg, THE BIRDS!
ReplyDeleteGardening with my two miniature dachshunds at my feet
ReplyDeleteLike canine wellies
DeleteReading you and Cro’s posts; walking on the trails with the dog.
ReplyDeleteWaking up to these river hills with hints of green, homemade soup & cookies, uninterrupted time, freedom to choose how to spend the day, a good walk, your blog and others.
ReplyDeleteFreedom, lovely optimistic words
DeleteLess traffic outside my door and no planes coming in overhead. I can hear the birds - and the neighbours
ReplyDeleteTalking with my grandsons on the phone (since I cant see them) Looking in on my chickens Nessa Rose, Winkin', Blinkin'& Nod. My cat Punkerpuss greeting me at the door. The sound of silence at the end of the day.
ReplyDeleteThe news that my son, who was admitted to the COVID floor of the hospital yesterday as a precaution, tested negative and was moved to another floor during the night. We still don't know the reason for his symptoms but I'm relieved to cross COVID off the list. Mimi
ReplyDeleteBig sigh x
DeleteWhat makes me happy? Waking up every morning ... hot coffee ... the crossword puzzle ... reading the blogs that I do every day! I savor the little things of life! ❤
ReplyDeleteA new day, the company of my husband and my son (on his good days) gardening, watching the seeds we have planted , poking through the soil and developing, the birds singing and catching up with blogs such as yours John.xx
ReplyDelete🕊
DeleteSitting in my favorite chair knitting, with a dog or two in my lap, and a full glass of coca cola with ice. It could only be better with a slice of birthday cake or a handful of cookies.
ReplyDelete🛋
DeleteMorning coffee and a book (I love Elly Griffiths, too, Mrs. C!), quilting (me, too, Mary!), music, family in the house with me, birdsong and spring greens outside!
ReplyDeleteLove Hattie's arty silhouettes photo! Another one to frame and put on your wall if there is any space left. :)
Hugs!

ReplyDelete📻
DeleteA new post from you, a challenging crossword puzzle or sudoko, a new magazine plopping through the mail slot, a new recipe to try, a friendly phone call - all good.
ReplyDelete😄
DeleteMorning coffee with my friends... via watts app group chat. Most mornings at around 10.30 we four friends 'get together' for a morning coffee and a natter.
ReplyDeleteSeeing a happy dog, especially trotting along beside its owner, tail up and with a big 'grin' on its face, always gives me a super lift. It's an animal which can't help but show how it's feeling, and if I see one that's happy then I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteI so agree. Seeing a really happy dog with its owner means that the owner is treating the dog properly.
Delete🐶🐶🐶
DeleteJohn my luv...if I come across those underwear with the days of week on them, I am going to pick them up for you!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs dear.
Please do darling x
DeleteLots of things but today laughing with my work colleagues until I cried! x
ReplyDelete🕵🏻♀️
DeleteMy middle son sends me a pic of my 7 month old granddaughter each day - I call it my daily dose of Elli - and it never fails to make me smile. Reading blogs and watching Netflix help a lot also! Thanks, John, for your blog posts!
ReplyDelete👼🏻
DeleteMy day goes better if I keep busy so I've been focused on cleaning and painting walls, baseboards, doors. I'm retired so I spend most of my days home but I usually go out and about to movie theaters, hikes, shopping, and I miss those activities. I go to a local ice cream shop, buy a small tub of ice cream and sit and people watch and I love going to the library to read magazines, newspapers, books.
ReplyDelete🍦
DeleteSeeing the tiny leaf buds starting to grow!
ReplyDelete🌱
DeleteIf I hear from my sons or grandchildren my day instantly improves. My cats always make my day better. And of course reading blogs improves any day!
ReplyDelete😼
DeleteLove that photo! Mary is lucky to have another loving human in her life, and Hattie is lucky to have a part-time dog. Win-Win!
ReplyDelete🏳️🌈
DeleteMy daily phone conversation with my best friend makes me happy. Incidentally, I've only just discovered your blog and I think your doggies are gorgeous.

ReplyDelete🍸
DeleteWaking up with only minimal aches and pains and getting on with some craft becomes the icing on my cake.
ReplyDelete🎂
DeleteSo many things. This morning it is waking up to the scent and sound of gentle rain.
ReplyDelete🌧
DeleteHaving my son, daughter in law and two grand children living only 60 feet away. Daughter in law is like the daughter I didn't have. Our houses are really one living space with some of us sleeping in our own dwellings so we can spend time with each other during our shelter in place. Grand children are 6th generation to be living on this piece of land.
ReplyDelete👨👩👧👧
DeleteReading your blog always makes my day better.
ReplyDelete👏🏻
DeleteBeach walks, tending to my houseplants, a good chat with a friend, blogging...
ReplyDeleteBe well. x

DeleteEven happier as due to care issues in my daughter's job, I have her dog tonight and all day tomorrow. Missed him.
ReplyDelete🐕
ReplyDeleteReading blogs and books. Keeping an eye on friends and neighbours by phone or online. Gardening. Baking. Snoozing.
ReplyDeleteA good book. A good walk. The thought of spring on the way - not today, we're having a snowstorm, but soon.
ReplyDeleteHave you run out of emoticons yet? :)
I've read each one but didn't have time emoji each xx nite all
ReplyDeleteSadly enough, at the moment, watching our Covid 19 numbers fall so I can hopefully get back to work at level 2. I wish it wasn't so.
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland
A cuddle from my husband, snuggles with the cat, checking my seedlings, looking at my pantry, a good book and taking my cup of coffee into the garden for some deep breaths before the work day begins.
ReplyDeleteSeeing my 16 month old granddaughter as we help keep her since daycares are closed. I am seeing her grow and change every time. It lifts my spirit during these tough times.
