Rearranging The Furniture

The " new" armchair

I was shampooing the bulldog accident wee stains from the living room carpet when I thought I heard  the letter box snap. I saw the envelope and spied a carrier bag tied to the front door knob and knew someone had popped off a gift. It was blog reader Suz and her hubby and I invited them in for coffee.

I felt awful.....awful in the fact I was wearing my grubby track suit bottoms and a t shirt  with egg down the front. I looked like a homeless tramp in crocs.
The cottage however looked a bit cleaner as My new ( seconds actually) arm chair had been delivered this morning and like any gay middle aged man worth his salt , I had spent several " happy" hours re arranging my furniture

The old armchair has been relagated to a reading chair in the kitchen
Note Suz's gifts of scotch eggs on the table!

I get to rearrange furniture tomorrow when my new (second hand actually) sofa is delivered. I am already planning to make some cushions for it.
Enjoy your nesting and scotch eggs on this dreary, wet day.

  4. A lovely wing chair. So great for reading--and then, when fatigue overcomes you--for leaning your head to the side for a snooze.

  10. A little light furniture rearranging is so good for the soul. It goes together with vases of fresh flowers, pictures adorning the walls, cushions plumped... a homely home. Who cares if you looked a scruff, not them I’m sure.

  13. If Suz reads your blog she would not have been surprised if you had opened the door dressed as Harry Potter...or a banana...or the frigging Archbishop of Canterbury!

What a wonderful "new" chair! Love the sitting area in your kitchen, too. I enjoyed enlarging the pictures to take a better look and there was my all time favorite: The Terriers of Trelawnyd.

Had to chuckle at YP's post! A banana?

    Hugs!

  17. have you read Mrs Hinch on twitter? think you would love her (she gets through galons of zoflora, uses it as air freshener).. anyhow, egg stains are resolved in my house by wearing the communal pinny (oil cloth apron that fits husband, sons and me and covers stains nicely :) cosy looking chair, I love rearranging furniture.

I hope not John, Zoflora is toxic stuff. Definitely not good where there are pets, particularly cats. On Zofloras website you can read about it, carefully hidden in the small print. Toxic. My vet alerted me to it.

It's all so very cozy! Do I spy a Christmas cactus on the windowsill in a clay pot sitting in a china chamber pot? And a blue enamel cook pot on the floor holding drinking water for your pals? Beside a bowl full of what - leashes maybe?
