I've not been in a Macdonald's for years, possibly around 40!!
My son was telling me about my grandson using the self order thingys for the first time when he was around 6. He wanted to do it with no supervision, so they let him. Seemingly he said he ordered a 'plain burger bun' ... when it came it was just that, a plain bread roll. Simon said his face was a picture when he lifted the lid of his bun and found it was empty 🤣
After I finished my night shifts this week, I felt like a sausage and egg mcmuffin too (my first in about 5 years). The woman that brought it over to me was kind and said that she thought we did awesome work and should be paid more. A kindness that made me feel better after my shift, as I know she would be paid less than what I had earned overnight.
Amen, there's something elicit about MacDonalds breakfasts that appeals! Though I am a blt bagel gal I do love sausage and egg too. I don't often indulge as I'm not often up early enough, but on Friday or Saturday night after a show, we do sometimes go to the 24 bakery in full show gear, and get pies and cakes. hehe
We've found a new to us sausage in the States called McSwaggerty's (Mac?), no fillers, delicious, and they have several flavors, including an "all natural"; your choice of links, patties, or the tubes of sausage so you can cut your own slices.
As for being out before dawn, I try not to do that anymore! Llandudno looks tranquil.
I also like the sausage McMuffins. Haven't had one in years. We have two Bagel places that have sausage, cheese and jalapenos they are so good. I need to get one soon. parsnip
Last week we tried out a new cafe. My top teeth ended up in their trash, and I am sure they will never forget us. LOL Yes, we are going back there today.
Hi hun, A muffin before dawn sounds like a good idea to me *yum*. What time do you finish your shift? It is an awful time to start your day - I would have problems getting out of bed! *hugs* goldensunflowerx
Sausage is a panacea for almost everything, although not recommended for gonorrhoea.
ReplyDeleteThat cure all sounds like a fore-taste of hell to me. Glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect xx
ReplyDeleteI've been there John and can so clearly remember how it all feels. Sending a heartfelt hug <3

That gave me a proper belly laugh! I can picture his little face . . .

ReplyDeleteOoh. I haven’t had an egg McMuffin in a long time. Sounds good right now. Wouldn’t after I ate it ... probably.
ReplyDeleteMuffins before dawn sounds like a camp duel.
ReplyDeleteHave a Mc-Great day!
ReplyDeleteI never go to mc-dog-chow; it's not real food.

DeleteIt'd have to be a Quorn sausage for me, though even so, agreed.

Correction: the sausage is Swaggerty's without Mc or Mac. :)
DeleteHave a good day on the job!

ReplyDeleteThank goodness I just had my breakfast or I'd be heading to Micky D's.
ReplyDeleteI am writing this post at 9.0pm and you have now made me very hungry for just that.

ReplyDeleteSpooky! What sort of a shift is this, 6 AM to 6 PM? Hard day, are you bringing healthy lunches/snacks and lots of water to fuel your day?
ReplyDeleteMacDonalds does make good coffee. So reliable on a long trip, and so disappointing when it's not up to standard.
