Laugh

A patient said to me this afternoon
"I just want to fucking laugh at something"
We get on, and I think I'm on his wavelength
After a think I returned to his room and played for a minute on his iPad
" Watch this!" I told him

3 hours later I passed his room and I caught his eye , as he played with his kids. He raised a skinny hand and gave me a big thumbs up and a grin
This is what he watched

I was reminded of it last night as I chatted to a friend......it's priceless

  3. Brilliant 🤣. Laughter is a great tonic for anyone. When I first started being in the Hospice I worked for on a regular basis, I was surprised how much laughter there was.

  4. Lovely. All so very English (apart from Sandi Toksvig - an honorary), and I miss the late Richard Griffiths.

Too funny! Love Phyllida Law in every single show or movie I've seen her in.

I'm so glad you could bring laughter into that gentleman's day! As Reader's Digest named their joke pages: "Laughter is the Best Medicine". So true. Am glad, too, that your new job has lots of opportunities for laughter.

DH just called downstairs to ask why I was laughing and who was laughing with me! :D

    Hugs!

  8. That was cute, some days I think that as well, I just want to laugh at something. I love how you treat your patients as more than just a job.
