Thank You

Tarantino's ok and overlong movie
DeCaprio was very good though

It's been another hard day.
2 hours in the building society and everything IS going forward as planned I will have wait a bit longer to get everything signed and sealed but the mortgage has been agreed.
It's a sobering thought that when I was single in 2000 I had a large Victorian house and a mortgage of 30 grand
Now I am single in 2019 I have a cottage and a mortgage of three times + that figure!
Everyone involved seemed impatient with the whole process which didn't help
And afterwards I did what I do when real life gets a bit knotty

I went to the cinema

Thank you all for your concern xxx

  9. Your persistence and planning and effort are paying off. Nobody handed you anything; you've worked for it. So give yourself a pat on the back. I'm glad you did something to relax, too. I get that. Your movie equals my book, a refuge indeed.

  10. Well *I'm* excited that the mortgage has been approved, even though you still have lots of hoops to jump through. I predict that the evening after the final papers are signed, you will have a great sense of relief sitting in the house that is fully in your name. I hope you enjoy feeling like a strong, independent man...with lots of friends nearby.

  13. That is great news, John. Houses cost so much today and I am so glad I bought my home 17 years ago. I couldn’t afford it today.

Glad to hear everything went will and the cottage is yours, as it should be. The worse is behind you. Nothing like a good movie to escape reality for awhile.

  15. I enjoyed the film and its length. Long films are good for escape purposes.

  16. If you sign up with Google Adsense to allow ads in "Going Gently", you will make a mint and your mortgage will be paid off by Christmas. There'll be ads for scotch eggs, pooper scoopers, "Crocs" and lion heads made entirely from vegetables.

  26. We're the same age and I have a lovely big mortgage as well. I'm glad it's getting sorted out.

  27. Gawd mortgages have so many 00000000s nowadays. I was in your position quite a few years back but with young adult children still living at home back then. I paid off my ex and my mortgage grew by a not inconsiderable sum. Some years down the line it feels less daunting John but I'll still be working 12 years longer than I intended. You aren't alone.

  28. Oh Congratulations John! As much as you can moan about the process, owning your own home is a special thing- congrats again to you and the ones you provide shelter to xoxo
