Purple Spray, purple spray

" We have a little drama here everyday.....but we forget about them the next day!"
So said my friend Eirlys , after I have driven up to her farm in order to loan some lurid purple antiseptic spray
I haven't seen her and her husband for months, but we pick up where we last took off without effort or problem
Good people, I am surrounded by them.

I saw old Stan the other day too, it's been an age since we caught up and he told me of the sad news that his son had died.
" Kit had not cried yet" he shared as Kit, his wife sat quietly nearby in the car
And I said what I could, conscious that I have not really been around for the past year.
Kit made me the famous slippers of sex!
The handknitted pumps Winnie used to masturbate on so regularly
Thank goodness for the hysterectomy I thought as I drove home

Winnie has been scratching her ear overnight. The inside of it now looks clean as Mary has had her tongue down it for most of the last 24 hours , but bulldog paws are the size of a bears' and so the old girl has two large red sores now on the side of her head.
She sat quietly as I bathed the wounds and then sat still when I sprayed them with the antiseptic.
I had a day old schnitzel in the fridge , which I gave her as a reward and which she ate almost whole

Last shift tonight!
And so I am off to bed again after this first aid episode
There will be purple stains all over the house now

Hey ho

  1. I use this same stuff I think John.I'm using it on my Thatch(new dog).I am using it 3 times a day on a scab on his neck which if it doesn't improve I shall go vets.If it's the one with penicillin in I believe it's pretty good.I use it regularly on the dogs and myself x

What a mostly entertaining story about your day. The purple spray is new to me but as we're thinking of getting another dog, I'll keep it in mind. Winnie does look like she's put up with a lot of bother and the schnitzel must have been forgotten.

My sympathy to Stan and Kit.

Glory be! Only one last night shift to go!!!!!!!

    Hugs!

  3. Our friends can be so much work. My two are fighting so badly that they now cannot be in the same room and the little one has a wound that requires a cone and a vet visit. Still love them to death.

  4. How sad that you've neglected your friends. They had times of need too.

By the way a dog's tongue is teeming with bacteria.

    1. I don't think it's always intentional 'neglect' but a matter of being overwhelmed by ones own immediate problems that are difficult to ignore x

    2. Confused? Who was neglected?

    3. John himself said he was "conscious that I have not really been around for the last year"

My comment wasn't meant in a nasty way as his own comment revealed he was aware he hadn't been there for his friends and I understood it to mean he regretted that and felt sad abut it.

    4. No, Sue I said right, I haven't been mentally around for the last year. I haven't been as visual , as present , as me

    5. Ok just checking. I didn’t read or write anything about neglect and wondered what I had missed.

  10. Poor purple Winnie! It's kind of Punk or something, isn't it?

  11. Ah yes, we used the purple spray regularly when we had horses. There's still a splodge of purple on the kitchen hearth where wretched stuff fell over once and if you get it on your hands, you're virtually branded for life!

  12. Poor Stan and Kit...puts other things in perspective.
Purple ear stains sound quite OK to me; Turbo had to have his anal glands emptied yesterday! Not a good smell!!

  13. PS If Winnie continues to scratch her ears, could the problem be grass mites? Turb sometimes has these and we've got some stuff called Surosolve from the vet, which we drip into his ears that seems to sort it.

  21. Will there be a celebration cake after your last shift? :)

Poor Winnie. I hope her ears improve quickly, and that she doesn't leave too many stains behind.

It must be very hard for Stan and Kit. Losing a child is every parent's nightmare, no matter how old the child - or the parent.
