Earphones

A fucking  revaluation !
Ear phones in the cinema!
No background noise, no rustling, no whispering, NO FUCKING COUGHING!!
Bliss.
Greta and I enjoyed every minute of A Star Is Born in the lovely setting of the Roman Gardens in Chester, with a light picnic supper, passable wine and an old lady rug on our knees!

Bradley Cooper and his winning smile, a nice, rather moving cameo by Sam Elliot and a powerhouse performance by Lady Gaga made for a passable version of the much copied original

But it was the headphone that made the experience
Bloody bliss!

  2. omg...i might even go to the movies if i could were headphones. i can't stand people talking during a movie. now if they could just offer nose plugs for the over perfumed.

  4. Reminds me of a drive-in theatre, where each car gets its own speaker. Except without the driving in part :)

Interesting! I used to enjoy going to the drive-in movies, Jenny_o. Long ago and far away from now.

Am glad you and Greta had a wonderful time!

    Hugs!

  6. Ahhhh, any one of us HOH could have told you that one. Most theaters here in the US have those or closed captioning available.

  8. You couldn’t have wished for better weather for it. I would never have heard a word outside, the earphones would have gone down a treat for me. So glad your enjoyed it.

When i go to the theatre, it's mobile phones that annoy me. It's amazing the number of people who check their phones during the performance, and in doing so, it lights up and catches my eye.

  10. We quite often have outside cinema screenings in Exeter. I've never been to one, but after hearing about yours, I might give it a go!

  16. That does sound great, nothing worse than trying to watch a movie and some guy behind keeps telling his friends what is about to happen in every scene.
