More virus

My solicitor is a sweet warm Welsh Woman .
She was wearing elasticated pants today and I wasn't sure if she was pregnant or just post Christmas
I'm full of a cold virus yet again and feel like shit, I'm on three nights this week.
Before I saw her I'd just bought some lem sip, vitamin c and a jigsaw from Aldi
How rock n roll
The last time I saw her, I followed our meeting with a contemplative and rather tearful  sit in the Cathedral in St Asaph
And today, she told me just how worried she was for me then
" You look like a different person today " she said kindly
I feel like shite , so I must have really have looked like shit back then.
I took winnie with me as the practice secretary has a bulldog.
During my meeting I left them both together sharing a packet of hoopla hoops as several selfies were being taken.
Bet I was still charged a hundred quid for the meeting!
Hey ho

  1. It sounds as though the solicitor is rooting for you. I hope she will lead you to a very satisfactory conclusion. You deserve it.

  2. John, not a good situation to be in even when feeling well, I would send you a hug... but I don't want your cold. Joking, I hope the best outcome possible for you.

  4. At least Winnie enjoyed herself.
Even with a cold you’re doing better from my perspective. Hugs.

  6. We are fighting a cold/flu here, as well. The grandfather and grandson have the worst of it and the grandson adores his grandfather so much that he is almost pleased to have the same illness as his object of adoration. "I sick," he tells me sadly. His mother reports that the other day he tucked himself into bed during the daytime which he has never in his life done before and said, "I want a book and you to lay down with me."
Oh, if only we could all ask for and receive those simple things when we are sick!
I am sure that you have books and I am even more sure that you can find a dog or two to rest beside you as you recover when time allows. This has been a rough, rough go for you, John Gray. May each day be a little brighter.

  7. I remember many years ago when my husband gave me a new outfit for Christmas and the pants had an elastic waist. I was horrified! He explained he didn't know my size and there wasn't much left to choose from. That helped. A bit. I'm thinking your solicitor might not need to ever know you noticed hers, though!

I'm sorry to hear you are sick again. The cold this season seems to be like a boomerang, coming back again just when it seemed to be done. I hope this is its last hurrah and you feel better soon.

  8. P. S. Pants = trousers in the UK, I think

  9. I'd gladly spend time with Winnie. I once told a client, "you know it costs you $75 every time you call me." He responded that I was cheaper than his therapist and he felt as good after he got off the call with me, as he did when he got off the phone with her.

  10. Sounds like a warm and friendly office - your solicitor and the secretary. Always feel good about people who treat pets well.

  11. I like the sound of that solicitor, even though $$ is involved.
I've come up to the edge of a couple of colds this winter but have beat them back via elderberry (Sambucas) syrup. It may just be the placebo effect, but dang, I'll take it.

cheers to you. Get well soon....

Is Winnie as enamoured with the Practice Secretary as she is with boiler-suited workmen? M x

  13. I think when it doesn't go away, it's called man flu. The operative word there is flu, that global epidemic. Can you please go to bed for an entire three days. A grandma's orders.

  14. Solicitor in elasticated trews, the two don’t seem to go together somehow? If her observations are anything to go by, you should be looking a million dollars when the bugs finally depart. All is not lost.

  15. She sounds like a good solicitor to have. She cares about you and that is thought to be rarity in that profession.

  16. I guess that constant exposure to cold and flu germs is an occupational hazard of nursing. Bummer!

  17. Oh, I hope they don't mark up the hoopla hoops (What the hell are hoopla hoops?)...

    4. Sorry, John. I of course looked them up after I commented. Had never seen nor heard of them. But they sound pretty good.

  19. I like zinc--lozenges when the cold hits, supplement tablets all winter long to ward the cold off. Seem to slow down, minimize the cold. This winter in our town the disease is very grumbly tummies--the stomach section of the grocery store is all bought out. Hope it all fades soon!

  23. Sorry you have another damnable cold. I'd suggest a bottle of gin consumed on a warm Mediterranean beach.

  24. You really do seem so very prone to cold after cold John.
Have you talked to your doctor. It is all too easy to try to get through these periods of intense stress on one's own, as though it is sign of weakness to get help. I think you are doing marvellously dear heart - but don;t try to go it alone if it means catching every bug on the planet.

Am glad your solicitor is has your best interests in mind and hope she can bring all the kerfuffle to an end as soon as possible with you treated royally at the outcome.

Meanwhile, keep the homemade soup hot and take good care of you. If TheraFlu is sold there, get some as the powder mixed with hot water really helps you feel better for a while. Comes in honey/lemon and mix berry flavors.

    Hugs from afar.

Shift work and weird sleep patterns make you very vulnerable to infections as your immune system gets mucked up. I suppose you know this already. Look after yourself, please.
