I went to see Stan and Ollie this afternoon and cried all through the last third of it.
It was a delight!
I'll review it tomorrow.
First, I must share with you the latest postcard entries which were all delivered today.
I've enjoyed reading them as much as looking at them
Enjoy xx and thanks xxx
Ps carol ( who send the album) and Brian please email me jgsheffield@hotmail.com

Delightfully eclectic!
ReplyDeleteStan and Ollie. I hadn't heard of it, but I bet I would love it. I understand when Oliver passed, Stan never fully recovered from his good friends death.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful film
DeleteFabulous array of cards and hey, love the sketch in the first one.
ReplyDeleteYou are receiving the most wonderful and varied assortment of cards! What an incredible representation of your readers!
ReplyDeleteAnother good set of postscards. I am glad you mentioned that you are enjoying reading them. I am enjoying writing to you from different corners of the globe. I went to see A Beautiful Boy this afternoon. A sad film although sad in a way that didn't make me cry, and highly recommended. I will go and see Stan and Ollie on Monday.
ReplyDeleteI will also give a prize for best message
DeleteMine was sent today. Was the first one by Yorkshire Pudding? It looks similarly like other pictures drawn by him.
ReplyDeleteI can't possibly say
DeleteA great mix and no two the same as yet! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are getting lots of varied postcards,
ReplyDeleteRegarding mine, it inspired a little short story in my head for that card alone....
He was a stickler for tradition. A man set in his ways. A kind and fair employer but times were changing and he was unsettled. He didn't like changes so he gifted his business to his trusted employees and bought himself a swannery.
Xx
I recognise the gargoyle in the hat it sits on St.Peter's Church, Winchcombe.
ReplyDeleteThe top one looks as if it's been drawn on a piece of old cardboard. Whoever sent it must be a right skinflint.
ReplyDeletelol but a talented one
DeleteHome made is best.
DeletePostman's shoeleather must be wearing thin.
ReplyDeleteYou'll be lucky to get mine in time for Easter. *&^% post

How delightful, one and all! I especially like the first one, too, and suggest there may be an "audience favorite" category added to the list.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
That nursing home had me laugh out loud!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see the 1st class stamp delivered its promise.
ReplyDeleteLots of real beauties here, and I hesitate to single out any particular one - though that first...
ReplyDeleteLove the two dogs and the cat this is such a fun idea John.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so interesting and on such a range of subjects. But I do especially like the first; it's a warmly rendered portrait of you, John, and the labels make me smile.
ReplyDeleteThey are very varied and unusual, it will be difficult to pick the winners.
ReplyDeleteThis was a brilliant idea! If I did it I’d only get 7 postcards!
