Lmaoooo the pope, though. And the Mensch!
ReplyDeleteThat third one down is, if I am not mistaken, my favourite Seurat, There is a conpanion one walking along the bank of the river in rather posh clothes - hope someone sends you that one.
ReplyDeleteWill someone please help that poor man with his net curtains ... he seems to have lost all of his clothes in the battle to get the drapes up at the window!!
ReplyDeleteThe top one looks a little like Cro Magnon methinks!!
ReplyDeleteA tad more stylish though!
DeleteLX
Due to work, I've fallen behind on my blog reading, so I don't know what this contest is all about, but I nominate the one with the net curtains.
ReplyDeleteKirk send me a postcard...sign it ...I will judge it
Deletenet curtains have become far more interesting lately for me......
ReplyDelete"Bathers at Asnières" by Seurat (1884) is one of my all time favourite paintings. Whoever sent that card is a very cultured, nice and clever human who surely deserves a prize!
ReplyDeleteIt is also one of chris' favourites. He looks like the main bather in profile
DeleteI love the dog in the sailor's uniform!
ReplyDeleteMy in-laws live in Llangollen... My postcard is winging across the pond.
ReplyDeleteNote it said Llangollen " anal"
DeleteNot canal

That's also made from compressed wood
DeleteMine is in the post today John-with a 1st class stamp!!
ReplyDeleteI hope to display it tomorrow
DeleteThe Pope, the Pope!
ReplyDeleteBTW, John, I broke the rules and sent a greeting card. Maybe I fit in the last category, if at all. It's in the mail today.
I'll let you off
DeleteI just mailed you one from the US. Although I think the "hot gay men" category has already been won.
ReplyDeleteOh I think more gay men postcards are the order of the day
DeleteI will be sending two soon, one of which would be approved of by Trendy Carol. Just hope they don't take too long to get there from here! (Missouri,US) This is fun seeing all the postcards as they arrive!
ReplyDeleteI posted mine today in a parcel. I hope that is acceptable and will be understood when you look at the parcel. I am loving seeing postcards received so far.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting xx
DeleteHi John.
ReplyDeletePlease don’t feel obligated to return a postcard to me in Australia. The postage would probably be equivalent to the cost of a Scotch egg. Buy the egg instead! 😁
It would be my pleasure
DeleteMy PO said the cards would take at least a week to ten business days, and Monday is a holiday---so don't give up on USA cards. They cost approx $1.20 to send, yeesh. Sorry I didn't have any gay naked men cards on hand. I ll look next time I'm in the city tho.
ReplyDeleteizzy
Closing date not for one calendar month izzy xx

DeleteWhen I posted mine the post lady said "what a wonderful idea." Agreed!
ReplyDeleteWe all need a bit of fun don't we?
DeleteMailed mine today from east coast Canada. Head to easily find real postcards here.....so sent along a greeting card I hope you like.
ReplyDeleteJimbo as one of my longest followers I will allow it x
DeleteThere is some good ones in this bunch! I am adoring the the fifth one. I a sending out this week. You make life so fun dear friend. What will you do with your amassed collection your bound to receive?
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun idea, John! Every postcard is great, in its own way.
ReplyDeleteI clearly need to shop for postcards again as those I have are so ho-hum by comparison to those available now. Who would have imagined that?
ReplyDeleteWhat great blog fodder these incoming postcards will be for the next month or so!
Hugs!
I love looking at the face, the face, the face of the buff dude standing in the water. ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it Bea. I bought the postcard several years ago and knew the right person would come along to send it to, I.e John. Also delighted that others enjoy it too. M x
DeleteHas anyone mentioned Postcrossing dot com..? It's a worldwide postcard swapping group that's a lot of fun. I've belonged to it for several years. Once registered, you are given an address to send a postcard to and simultaneously you receive one. You never know where it's coming from. I've received them from all over the world. It's fun and cheap!
ReplyDeleteI'll be sending one to you John.
One day I realized that all the wonderful postcards that I had saved , both cards that people had sent to us and those I had sent, we're just lying in a box and never looked at again.
ReplyDeleteSo ....I took an old childhood toy chest that I kept old "treasures"in and a moth eaten stuffed toy belonging to one of my children. The wood was drab and ugly from age and use.
I painted it dark green then took all of those postcards and decoupage do the cards on the lid of the box,.
As time has passed the finish has aged a golden color, it is lovely.
It really did become beautiful with age...and glue ..
Such fun!!!
ReplyDeleteI like them all.
ReplyDeleteLove the dog in the sailor's outfit !!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThese are so great, and now you have an instant collection...that will crazy grow daily.
ReplyDeleteAwesome choices I like the pope one the best.
