  7. "Bathers at Asnières" by Seurat (1884) is one of my all time favourite paintings. Whoever sent that card is a very cultured, nice and clever human who surely deserves a prize!

  19. Hi John.

Please don’t feel obligated to return a postcard to me in Australia. The postage would probably be equivalent to the cost of a Scotch egg. Buy the egg instead! 😁

  20. My PO said the cards would take at least a week to ten business days, and Monday is a holiday---so don't give up on USA cards. They cost approx $1.20 to send, yeesh. Sorry I didn't have any gay naked men cards on hand. I ll look next time I'm in the city tho.

I clearly need to shop for postcards again as those I have are so ho-hum by comparison to those available now. Who would have imagined that?

What great blog fodder these incoming postcards will be for the next month or so!

    Hugs!

  27. Has anyone mentioned Postcrossing dot com..? It's a worldwide postcard swapping group that's a lot of fun. I've belonged to it for several years. Once registered, you are given an address to send a postcard to and simultaneously you receive one. You never know where it's coming from. I've received them from all over the world. It's fun and cheap!
I'll be sending one to you John.

  28. One day I realized that all the wonderful postcards that I had saved , both cards that people had sent to us and those I had sent, we're just lying in a box and never looked at again.
So ....I took an old childhood toy chest that I kept old "treasures"in and a moth eaten stuffed toy belonging to one of my children. The wood was drab and ugly from age and use.
I painted it dark green then took all of those postcards and decoupage do the cards on the lid of the box,.
As time has passed the finish has aged a golden color, it is lovely.
It really did become beautiful with age...and glue ..
